<p>As part of its special education programming, Extended School Year (ESY) Services are provided to eligible students. Franklin offers a number of ESY programs from preschool through high school. Extended School Year services are provided to students who meet one or more of the criteria for such services as outlined in special education law. Typically, eligible students require services because they have demonstrated or are likely to demonstrate substantial regression in his/her learning skills and/or substantial difficulty relearning such skills if an extended year program is not provided. Teachers needed for the following programs:</p> <p>Academic Support Middle School Teacher- 3 days/week; T, W, TH Academic Support is a program for students with mild-moderate learning needs.</p> <p>GOALS Middle School Teacher - 3 days/week; T, W, TH The GOALS program is a specialized program for students with various Autism Spectrum Disorders and accompanying needs.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and organize small group instruction in a setting that for students with social-emotional, Autism Spectrum, and complex learning disabilities </li><li>Organize structured morning of academic, social, and recreational opportunities </li><li>Provide maintenance instruction in reading, writing, math, social skills, and behavioral strategies </li><li>Assign assistant(s) to student and program responsibilities </li><li>Coordinate with related service staff (OT, PT, SLP, Psychologist) </li><li>Communicate with parents </li><li>Write student progress reports at end of the program </li></ul> <p>Qualifications: special education teaching licensure required; knowledge of and experience with therapeutic and academic strategies and interventions for students, behavior management and a variety of specialized instructional techniques in social skills, reading, written language and math</p> <p>Hours:</p> <ul> <li>3.5 hours/day; students in session 3 hours from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM </li><li>Teachers need to be present from 7:45 AM - 11:15 PM </li><li>30 minutes/day of prep time is built into the daily rate </li></ul> <p>Compensation: $156/day</p> <p>The successful applicant must be available for the full duration of the program.</p> <p>Please specify which program you are applying for, i.e., Academic Support or GOALS.</p>
