Typical duties listed on a Research Nurse resume are collecting and reviewing clinical data, assisting investigators, screening subjects, and providing support during procedures.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Key Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work as needed on a PRN basis primarily Monday through Friday with occasional extended hours or weekends.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform procedures and/or administer Investigational Drugs in strict compliance to the study protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and other state and local regulations as applicable.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and monitor the well-being and safety of study participants; identify Adverse Events (AEs) and provide proper documentation and reporting of all AEs to study team.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all required consent forms are obtained prior to any research activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide clear and comprehensive documentation of study visit activities while adhering to the study protocol and the guidelines of Good Clinical Practice.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate and maintain research equipment according to departmental policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Support and encourage a cooperative work environment.</p> </li><li> <p>May fulfill an interim clinical research coordinator (CRC) role for Principal Investigators who do not have their own CRC on staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with institutional and departmental policies along with each study's protocol by providing thorough review and documentation at each participant visit.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform study defined procedures and assessments, including, but not limited to, vital signs, IV placement, drug administration, lab collection, lab processing, phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, etc. in strict compliance with the study protocol.</p> </li><li> <p>Accurate documentation in participant records (paper and electronic, as applicable).</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in troubleshooting problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Other study-related activities as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize evidence-based practice methods to improve participant care and study conduct</p> </li></ul> <p>This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Furthermore, job duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Certification:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas.</p> </li><li> <p>Current BLS certification</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>At least 1 year experience in acute care nursing.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience placing IV's and administering IV infusions.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in acquiring ECG's, vital signs, height, and weight</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in phlebotomy and processing of lab specimens</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in administering investigational drugs via IV infusions, IV push, IM and SQ injections</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in the collection of medical history, concomitant medications, and concomitant therapies from the research participants</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook email, Word, and Excel</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing </li></ul> <p>Certification</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri</p> </li><li> <p>Current ACLS certification</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in clinical research</p> </li><li> <p>Recent Emergency Room or Critical Care experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Verbal and Written Skills </li></ul> <p>Required Documents:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Resume/CV</p> </li><li> <p>Cover Letter</p> </li></ul> <p>Employee Type:</p> <p>Temporary (Fixed Term)</p> <p>Time Type:</p> <p>Part time</p> <p>Rate Type:</p> <p>Hourly</p> <p>Compensation Statement:</p> <p>The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.</p> <p>Pay Range:</p> <p>$33.75 - $50.63</p> <p>Minimum</p> <p>$33.75</p> <p>Midpoint</p> <p>$42.16</p> <p>Maximum</p> <p>$50.63</p>
