<p>Persons in this position may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principal elements of the job.</p> <p>Position Description: The Student Learning Advocate (SLA) is responsible for actively supporting students' progress by identifying barriers to learning, advocating for necessary accommodations or interventions, connecting students with relevant resources, and empowering them to take ownership of their education.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>? Monitor, track, and analyze student progress data weekly in Edgenuity (LMS) and Google Classroom.</p> <p>? Follow a tiered intervention plan weekly with students who are behind pace.</p> <p>? Attend weekly and/or monthly virtual and in-person meetings</p> <p>? Conduct virtual orientations and hold meet and greet in-person meetings with all new students.</p> <p>? Track all communication with students and families.</p> <p>? Contact parents/guardians via virtual meeting, in-person meeting, or phone call at least quarterly.</p> <p>? Schedule classes and discuss career and course plans.</p> <p>? Make successful contact with each student via phone, text, virtual meeting, or in-person meeting at least biweekly.</p> <p>? Conduct a Welcome Back phone call, virtual meeting, or in-person contact each semester with returning students.</p> <p>? Meet in-person with each student at least once per school year.</p> <p>Virtual SLA Additional Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>? Participate in and lead monthly grade-level virtual meetings</p> <p>? Hold weekly Study Hall virtual meetings</p> <p>? Support the Virtual Ag teacher with contacting students who are behind</p> <p>Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:</p> <p>? Bachelor's degree and Indiana teaching license or school counselor license required</p> <p>? Experience working with students in grades 7-12 preferred</p> <p>? Experience teaching Math preferred</p> <p>? Knowledge of Indiana graduation requirements is a plus</p> <p>? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</p> <p>? Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills</p> <p>? Confidence in advocating for student needs</p> <p>? Ability to build strong relationships with students and families and understand their unique perspectives</p> <p>? Willingness to travel throughout Indiana to meet with students and families as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)</p> <ul> <li>This position has the potential to grow into a full-time position in the future as our school continues to grow </li></ul> <p>N/A for Part-Time</p>
