<p>We are seeking an experienced engineer to serve as the District Engineer for several water and sanitation districts in the Denver Metro area. The District Engineer plays a key role in working with District and Kennedy Jenks (KJ) staff to coordinate and manage the operations, maintenance, and optimization of water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This role will serve as a primary point of contact for the districts, local authorities, developers, engineers, and internal teams, providing technical leadership to meet the water and wastewater needs of the districts.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manage and oversee water and wastewater engineering projects from planning through design and construction, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget. </li><li>In coordination with the District Board and staff, develop and implement long-range plans. </li><li>Lead the development of annual Capital Improvement Plans and oversee the execution of annual capital improvement projects. </li><li>Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to achieve project goals and ensure compliance. </li><li>Prepare and review technical documents, including proposals, reports, and contract specifications. </li><li>Represent district clients as the District Engineer, attending monthly board meetings to provide updates and professional guidance. </li><li>Develop solutions to engineering challenges and oversee operational improvements for water and wastewater infrastructure. </li><li>Support business development efforts, including proposals, client interactions, and marketing coordination. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related engineering field. </li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado. </li><li>12+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a focus on project management. </li><li>Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple projects. </li><li>Experience with business development and sales. </li><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with experience representing clients. </li></ul> <p>This position requires a minimum of two days per week in the local office, with the option to work remotely on non-office days, depending on business needs.</p> <p>Salary range for this position in Colorado is anticipated to be $125,000 to $145,000, depending on experience and qualifications.</p> <p>This position is eligible for performance and incentive compensation.</p> <p>Benefits summary: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401k, bonus opportunities, tuition reimbursement, professional registration support, a competitive PTO and holiday plan, and other benefits and programs.</p> <p>#LI-Hybrid</p>
