<p>Job Description</p> <p>Job Title: Mechanical Test Engineer</p> <p>Location: Middletown, RI</p> <p>Zip Code: 02842</p> <p>Duration: 6-9 months</p> <p>Pay Rate: $69.89/hr</p> <p>Schedule: 5/40</p> <p>Start Date: Immediate</p> <ul> <li>Confidential Clearance (or higher) is REQUIRED* </li></ul> <p>Job Title: Mechanical Test Engineer</p> <p>What is the primary mission of this role?</p> <p>o Mechanical / HW Testing</p> <p>Key Requirements & Responsibilities/What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li>Perform instrumentation planning and test conduct of all Hardware Tests including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, and structural testing </li><li>Dynamic and thermal data acquisition and analysis </li><li>Provide test fixture design coordination </li><li>Work independently and take ownership of program/project to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals </li><li>Prepare test plans, schedules, test reports, and technical documentation of project work assigned </li><li>Work directly with design engineering, structural analysis personnel, manufacturing engineering, and commercial customers </li><li>Provide technical expertise to programs as needed </li><li>Factory and supplier testing support domestically and internationally </li><li>Generate detailed, archival technical reports </li><li>Travel to test sites to support test or design discussion (depending on work assignment) </li><li>Willingness to travel to domestic Raytheon sites, suppliers, and government facilities </li></ul> <p>Qualifications You Must Have</p> <ul> <li>Typically requires a Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience </li><li>Hands-on mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in a lab environment </li></ul> <p>Qualifications We Prefer</p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. </li><li>Experience in Hardware and Environmental Testing (i.e. Dynamic Shock/Vibration, Climatic, Structural) </li><li>Experience in one or more of the following areas: Signal processing, data acquisition, field test instrumentation, or structural testing </li><li>Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently </li><li>Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent </li><li>Experience with Matlab </li><li>Experience presenting to external customers </li><li>Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written </li><li>Ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities </li></ul> <p>Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
