<p>Title: Mission Officer</p> <p>Reporting to: President</p> <p>Classification: 9 months, part-time, exempt</p> <p>Qualifications Per CMHE Mission Officers Council:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a master's degree in theology or related field </li><li>Active participation in Catholic Church life, fluent in Catholic tradition including being conversant with Catholic Intellectual and Social Thought and how it shapes Catholic Higher Education </li><li>Working knowledge of and commitment to the history, tradition and current direction of the Sisters of Mercy </li><li>Prior experience in higher education preferred </li><li>Minimum of three years of administrative experience </li><li>Experience and/or training in multi-cultural and/or ecumenical settings with a capacity to relate to diverse populations </li></ul> <p>The role of the Mission Officer is to complement the President in enabling the educational mission, beliefs, and values of Maria College, Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and the Conference of Mercy Higher Education.</p> <p>The Mission Officer is a critical senior leadership position at Maria College. This position is responsible for ensuring the mission, values, and identity of the College are fully integrated with the College community, including within strategic planning, policymaking, direction setting, and internal and external communications. In this role, the Mission will represent the College and strengthen the relations between the President and religious, civic, and church communities. The Executive Director of Mission Integration is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and assessment of mission-related administrative processes to ensure a unified, student-centered approach.</p> <p>This position is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing campus programming that contributes to the intellectual, spiritual, and social development of students, faculty, and staff, ensuring support and guidance in order to grow and thrive academically, professionally, and personally in our culturally diverse academic community.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Mission Officer assists the President in promoting and integrating the mission and vision of the College, its Catholic identity, and Mercy Heritage. </li><li>Lead the development of programming and resources which support the spiritual well-being, development and life of the College Community. </li><li>Promote positive relations between the College and religious, civic and church communities. </li><li>Advise the President on ecclesiastical matters including Canon Law, Church doctrine and moral teaching, constitutions of Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, as it pertains to the work of the College. </li><li>Assist the President in maintaining strong relations with the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, RSM Northeast Community, the Bishop and Dioceses of Albany. </li><li>Assist the President in the management of the sponsorship of the College by ensuring participation in the Conference for Mercy Higher Education. In doing so lead the coordination of the Mission Institutional Assessment and CMHE Peer Review process. </li><li>Provide pastoral care for the College community and be actively involved in the life of the College, and work closely with Student Life in assisting students with food, housing insecurities, self-care, and overall life challenges. </li><li>Teach sections of the course Foundations of Social Justice. </li></ul>
