<p>PAINTER APPRENTICE -FULL TIME</p> <p>Performs a variety of surface preparation, painting, and wallcovering duties in and around Luther Manor properties.</p> <ul> <li>Prepares surfaces for sanding, patching etc. using hand/power tools. </li><li>Paints and treats exterior and interior surfaces. </li><li>Coordinates multiple job assignments to meet changing priorities. </li><li>Must be able to work with minimal supervision 5% of time and typically works alone. </li><li>Requests purchase orders and maintain stock needed to perform job assignments . </li><li>Installs and maintains wall coverings. </li><li>High school graduate or equivalent preferred </li><li>Must demonstrate a sound surface preparation and painting aptitude, preferably through prior experience with interior, exterior and enamel paints. </li><li>Ability to balance on flat surfaces in awkward positions, stretching and bending. </li><li>Ability to stoop, squat or kneel to work at low level painting and/or prep of those surfaces. </li><li>Ability to lift objects weighing up to approximately 35 pounds. </li><li>Ability to push / pull objects with up to 35 pounds of force. </li><li>Frequent above shoulder height work and/or climb surfaces to raise the work height surfaces. </li><li>Ability to remove and replace drywall. </li><li>Ability to distinguish between shades of colors and patterns. </li><li>Must have basic understanding of stain, varnish, cleaner, and paint composition and the differences in using each appropriately. </li><li>Actively participates in or initiates problem solving in job-related issues. Works positively with coworkers, sharing job responsibilities when assignments are completed and in times of shortage and special projects. </li></ul>
