<p>Workweek</p> <p>20 - 29 Hours | Flexible schedule to meet department needs to include possible evenings and weekends.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Fire Science Training Coordinator will coordinate the operation of all Fire Science facilities including scheduling, organizing, supplying, and maintaining laboratory areas in support of the ongoing educational program in Fire Science. They will work closely with the Director of Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Dean of Business, Social Sciences and Public Services to meet departmental needs.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and monitor the security and safety of the Tower, House, supply closet, classroom, engine, ladder truck, and storage facilities. This includes stocking, storing, and dispersal of supplies, equipment, and materials </li><li>Assist Director of Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services with class scheduling for credit, non-credit and Basic Operations Firefighter (BOF) Academies </li><li>Assist Director of Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services with budget preparation by submitting lists of supplies and materials as needed </li><li>Maintain inventory </li><li>Maintain semester schedules of labs </li><li>Monitor and replenish supplies as needed </li><li>Coordinate operation and maintenance of Fire Science laboratory equipment. Monitor equipment performance; repair as needed or contact vendor(s) for support </li><li>Order supplies and equipment as needed. Travel to local suppliers for pickup of materials, as needed. </li><li>Maintain safety procedures for Fire Science training </li><li>Maintain BOF Academy training manual </li><li>Work collaboratively with others (e.g., colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities </li><li>Provide additional support to the Fire Science program, as needed </li><li>Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor </li><li>Gain and maintain familiarity with Office of State Fire Marshall website and have the ability to maintain MCC items on that website </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in Fire Science or a related field from a regionally accredited institution, or experience commensurate with the position </li><li>Two years of fire service leadership experience </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Science or a related field from a regionally accredited institution </li></ul> <p>Skills and Specifications:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to be self-motivated, self-directed, and to work independently, yet have a strong team orientation; must also be able to develop productive working relationships at all levels of the organization </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organization </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing </li><li>Orientation to quality and delivering excellent customer service </li><li>Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment </li><li>Ability to grow with technology and philosophical directions implemented by the College </li><li>Knowledge of inventory management </li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions </li><li>Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends </li><li>Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds unassisted </li><li>Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills </li><li>Commitment to ongoing professional development </li><li>Commitment and respect for diversity, equity and inclusion </li><li>Commitment to the College mission, vision, strategies, and goals </li></ul>
