Qualified applicants will be tested on their skill level and scheduled to be interviewed at our office.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Read a tape measure </li><li>Layout Material </li><li>Fit-Up Material </li><li>Rigging </li><li>Read a blueprint/drawing/tech manual </li><li>Comprehensive Torch and Weld Work </li><li>Radius Gage </li><li>Hand Power Tools </li><li>Shop Tools/Equipment </li></ul> <p>Required Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Must have verifiable Tig experience. </li><li>Ability to comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals to weld metals </li><li>Must have strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and able to multitask </li><li>Understand the Work Process to measure, cut, and weld metal (of multiple material types) to the required specifications </li><li>Ability to weld metal using various requirements and procedures such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW. </li><li>Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines </li><li>Must be able to work independently </li><li>Understanding of the Ship repair industry </li><li>Must be DBIDS and TWIC credential-eligible </li><li>The pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe. GTAW (TIG) process is used for root pass, and 11018 electrodes are used for the weld fill portion and cap. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Open-air conditions such as noise, hot and cold, and in an office-controlled environment. </li><li>May have to visit projects aboard ships, rigs on and offshore, and confined spaces.
