No If temporary (or grant funded) position, indicate ending date Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>The Electronic Systems & Services Librarian at Fairmont State University plays a critical role in managing and advancing the electronic resources and services provided by the library. This position is responsible for overseeing the organization, accessibility, and maintenance of electronic resources, including databases, e-books, e-journals, and other digital materials. The Electronic Systems & Services Librarian collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure seamless access to electronic resources and promotes their effective use by the university community.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manage the licensing, and renewal of electronic resources, ensuring alignment with the library's collection development policies and budgetary constraints. </li><li>Manage the library's website and LibGuides. </li><li>Develop and implement strategies for maximizing the discoverability and accessibility of electronic resources through the library's catalog, discovery tools, and other relevant platforms. </li><li>Provide technical expertise and support for electronic resource access, troubleshooting access issues, and coordinating resolution with vendors and IT support as necessary. </li><li>Collaborate with library staff, faculty, and vendors to assess user needs, evaluate electronic resources, and make recommendations for new acquisitions or cancellations. </li><li>Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and instructional materials to promote effective use of electronic resources and research tools among faculty, students, and staff. </li><li>Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and technological advancements related to electronic resources and scholarly communication and make recommendations for incorporating new technologies and services into the library's offerings. </li><li>Serve as a liaison to academic departments and other campus units, providing outreach and support related to electronic resources. </li><li>Teach a section of the SOAR program as needed. </li><li>Participate in academic university committees, professional development activities, and collaborative projects with other libraries or consortia as appropriate. </li><li>Maintain accurate records and statistics related to electronic resource usage and prepare reports for library administration and external stakeholders as needed. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned in support of the library's mission and strategic goals. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Required Education</p> <p>Master's Degree from an institution accredited by the American Library Association.</p> <p>Required Licenses and/or Certifications</p> <p>Master's Degree from an institution accredited by the American Library years of experience in library technology. </li><li>Experience working in a library, preferably in a role focused on electronic resources management or digital services. </li><li>Strong knowledge of library systems and electronic resource management tools, such as integrated library systems (ILS), electronic resource management systems (ERMS), and discovery services. </li><li>Familiarity with library standards and protocols related to electronic resource metadata, authentication methods, and accessibility requirements. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and provide user-centered service. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment. </li><li>Comfortable teaching library technologies and undergraduate research strategies. </li><li>Knowledge of copyright issues, licensing agreements, and scholarly publishing practices relevant to electronic resources. </li><li>Commitment to professional development and staying abreast of developments in librarianship, technology, and higher education. </li><li>Experience
