The Physical Education teacher should motivate students to be physically active and learn healthy habits.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Education.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid School Teaching Certificate with endorsement in Physical Education and Health (MC)</p> </li><li> <p>CPR/First Aid Certification.</p> </li></ul> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teaching physical fitness, health education, and individual, dual, or team sports knowledge are available to primary and secondary students.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizing a course of study adopted by the school district and/or site.</p> </li><li> <p>Works cooperatively with administration and staff to plan a balanced physical education program, adapt daily schedules to accommodate weather conditions, and provide time for transitions, instruction, exercise, and sports activities.</p> </li></ul> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Instruct students in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study familiar to all teachers, as specified in state law, administrative regulations, and school district procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes various instructional skills, methods, and modes to accommodate student needs, interests, learning styles, and ability levels. Provide individualized and small-group instruction to tailor the curriculum to the unique needs of each student.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining high school standards of pupil behavior is essential to provide an orderly and productive environment, in cooperation with the school administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibits appropriate conduct in the handling of student emergencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Selects and recommends requisitions for equipment and instructional supplies.</p> </li><li> <p>Instruct students in proper care and use of materials and equipment. Organize storage areas and control the use of materials and equipment to prevent loss or abuse.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess each student's progress in physical fitness, skills, and knowledge. Prepare documents and communicate progress reports to students, parents, and school administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform basic student attendance accounting and maintain and submit, upon request, accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>May plan and coordinate the work of aides, teacher assistants, or other paraprofessionals.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend and participate in staff meetings and district meetings as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
