<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>The West Virginia Office of the Inspector General is currently accepting applications forChief Financial Officer.This executive level position is responsible for all fiscal and grant operations within the organization, including development of policies and procedures, as well as the pursuit of future grant funding opportunities. This role requires resilience, receptiveness to feedback, and a strong work ethic under pressure. Duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <p>Develops, interprets, and applies policies and procedures.</p> <p>Analyzes financial statistics and other accounting data to identify trends and problems.</p> <p>Directs the compilation of data related to the operations of the agency and preparation of complex financial statements and related reports.</p> <p>Performs executive level review and analysis of agency workflow and use of resources to improve effectiveness and efficiency.</p> <p>Researches and pursues grant opportunities to fund agency operations.</p> <p>Makes budgeting decisions with agency executives.</p> <p>Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.</p> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants who possess either a master's degree in accounting, certification as a public accountant, experience in grants management or experience in government budgets.The selected candidate must be able to pass an in-depth preemployment background screen.</p> <p>The Office of the Inspector General offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid vacation, sick and holiday leave, and a defined benefit retirement plan.</p> <p>Click The APPLY Link To Apply Online.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.</p> <p>Experience: Seven years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in financial or performance accounting/auditing, cost analysis or governmental accounting, two years of which must have been in a supervisory or lead worker capacity.</p> <p>Substitution: Master's degree in professional accounting (MPA) or business administration (MBA) may substitute for two years of the required non-supervisory experience.</p>
