This role involves various laboratory tasks, including specimen accessioning, slide preparation, and lab maintenance. The position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience and advance within the organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Accessioning specimens </li><li>Preparing slide trays </li><li>Filing blocks and slides </li><li>Assisting with lab organization and maintenance </li><li>Preparing solutions and recycling chemicals </li><li>Performing tissue embedding after training </li><li>Assisting with H&E slide preparation </li><li>Cleaning lab equipment and tools </li><li>Stocking lab supplies and performing inventory </li><li>Adhering to compliance and completing training </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Biology and Chemistry </li><li>Experience in a laboratory setting </li><li>Understanding of medical laboratory procedures </li><li>Ability to adhere to safety and compliance guidelines </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associates or Bachelors Degree in the Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Laboratory Science, Environmental Science, etc.) </li><li>6 months of Laboratory Experience within the Healthcare Industry </li><li>High School Diploma required </li><li>Previous lab experience preferred </li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology preferred </li><li>Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute preferred </li><li>Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position is based in a Pathology Lab with working hours from Monday to Friday, between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. The schedule may rotate to include weekends depending on business needs. The lab environment is highly organized and requires adherence to strict safety and compliance protocols. This role offers the opportunity to gain hours and experience needed to qualify for the HT or ASCP Exam within a year of employment. Successful candidates who earn the HT or ASCP certification will receive a pay increase and have opportunities for career advancement based on performance reviews.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $18.25/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
