<p>Engage and support students with a holistic, wrap-around model incorporating non-cognitive assessment and comprehensive educational planning, and proactive referrals. Collaborate and connect students to appropriate existing departments and outside resources, such as the ACTion Center, Academic Support Center, and Student Services. Outreach will be conducted through intrusive interventions, timely reminders and other targeted individual and group communications using phone, email, texting and social media. Promptly act on information from faculty, staff, and predictive analytics regarding student academic concerns. Plan and implement appropriate interventions. Proactively work with students to direct them to interventions. Encourage and advocate for students persistently. Monitor individual and aggregate data numbers and track outcomes of interventions. Maintain clearly written comprehensive notes and data on students in electronic files. This position is Grant-Funded. </p> <p>Internal Job Posting</p> <p>Staff, Non-Classified</p> <p>Exempt</p> <p>Grade 4</p> <p>$39,000 (Grant-Funded)</p> <p>Full-Time</p> <p>OASIS Job Code: 323104</p> <p>OASIS Job Title: Academic Advisor Exempt Coaching students, including </p> <ul> <li> Builds rapport and trust with students, faculty, and staff to support successful goal completion. </li><li> Assist students with setting goals and identifying, planning for, and overcoming potential obstacles. </li><li> Guide students to define steps in education pathways and career planning process and completion. </li><li> Monitors student progress toward goals. </li><li> Help students recognize and problem solve issues that arise related to progress towards academic goals, persistence, and attendance. </li><li> Connect students to existing departments and community resources. </li><li> Planning and implementing student pathway after graduation; may include assistance with resume writing, career exploration, interview skills, and connecting students with job fairs internally or in the community as needed. Promptly act on information from faculty, staff, and predictive analytics regarding student academic concerns. </li><li> Empowers students to problem solve issues that arise related to progress towards academic goals, persistence, and attendance. </li><li> Utilizes motivational interviewing and other coaching methods to encourage student to modify or adopt behaviors that in result in academic and professional success. </li><li> Facilitate communication and interactions that connects students to appropriate College faculty and staff. </li></ul> <p> Student Admission, Registration, and Orientation process:</p> <p> • Follows up with students after application and acceptance process to assist with enrollment process. </p> <p> • Provides tours and other support as needed during open houses, orientations, and other on-campus and virtual registration events. </p> <p> • Facilitates conversations between student, advisor, internal, and external supports. </p> <p> • Serves as knowledge base of college programs and services to connect students with appropriate personnel. </p> <p> • Makes proactive contact with students who have missing and/or incomplete information for registration processes. </p> <p> Reporting:</p> <p> • Maintain clearly written comprehensive notes and data on students in electronic files.</p> <p> • Monitor individual and aggregate data numbers and track outcomes of interventions.</p> <p> • Serve as a liaison with faculty, staff, and other entities to facilitate the connection with at-risk students.</p> <p> • Attend regular meetings for Title III, ACTion Center, ASC, and ongoing professional development. </p> <p> • Monthly reporting of time and effort submitted to Title III Project Director. </p> <p> Contacts instructor for ORNT, ENG, and MATH to request permission to explain what Success Coaching is for students during classes.Other duties as assignedEducationEducation LevelField of StudyReqPrefAnd/OrBachelor's degreeCounseling, Human Services, or a related field</p> <p> X Associate's degreeCounseling, Human Services, or a related field</p> <p>X</p> <p>A combination of education, experience, and training may be accepted. </p> <p> </p> <p>Work ExperienceExperienceExperience DetailsReqPref 3 year +Providing Direct Services to students/clients in a holistic case management model incorporating referrals and follow up.
