The Broomfield Police Department is looking for a Court Security Officer to help us enforce state and local ordinances while also providing high-quality service to court personnel and the public. </p> <p>The Court Security Officer performs non-commissioned work in the enforcement of selected State Statutes and City & County ordinances, provides security at the Combined Courts, screens all persons entering the Combined Courts for prohibited articles, monitors and controls CCTV and security electronics systems, conducts building security sweeps, and provides assistance to the public and other personnel as needed. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.</p> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: oral board, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry, CVSA or polygraph, pre-psych, medical examination, drug screen, and fingerprint checks through CBI/FBI.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be at least 18 years of age. </p> </li><li> <p>Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's license and safe driving record for continued employment.  </p> </li><li> <p>Clearance to access law enforcement automated information systems. </p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Required to wear body armor while performing the duties of this job. </p> </li><li> <p>Primarily works indoors but may be required to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>May be exposed to varied safety hazards, which range from exposure to radiation while operating the x-ray security screener to dealing with combative or dangerous persons to assisting officers if necessary to make an arrest.  </p> </li><li> <p>The noise level in the environment is moderately noisy.</p> </li><li> <p>This position normally involves working Monday through Friday and after hours as required.  </p> </li><li> <p>The employee's schedule can be changed with little or no notice, and mandatory overtime may be required with little or no advance notification. </p> </li><li> <p>Frequently required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  </p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell, and reach with hands and arms. </p> </li><li> <p>Physical demands are described as medium (exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects).  </p> </li><li> <p>Tasks may require sitting at a computer for several hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision. </p> </li></ul> <p> </p>
