<p>Job Title: Outpatient Oncologist</p> <p>Location: New York City</p> <p>Department: Hematology/Oncology</p> <p>Employment Type: Full-Time</p> <p>Salary: $400,000 - $450,000 annually</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outpatient Oncologist to join our multidisciplinary cancer care team in New York City. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered oncology care in an ambulatory setting and inpatient consultations, focusing on diagnosis, treatment planning, chemotherapy/immunotherapy management, survivorship care, and coordination with surgical, radiation, and specialty services.</p> <p>This role emphasizes high-quality, evidence-based care, strong communication skills, and collaboration within a dynamic clinical environment serving a diverse urban population.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with solid tumors and/or hematologic malignancies in an outpatient and inpatient setting </li><li>Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care </li><li>Oversee infusion therapy and monitor treatment response and toxicity </li><li>Coordinate multidisciplinary care with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and primary care providers </li><li>Participate in tumor boards and case conferences </li><li>Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, treatment options, and clinical trials </li><li>Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) </li><li>Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including New York State Department of Health requirements </li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain adherence to national oncology guidelines (e.g., NCCN) </li><li>Optional: Engage in clinical research and/or academic teaching if affiliated with a university medical center </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school </li><li>Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology </li><li>New York State medical licensure </li><li>DEA registration </li><li>Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship </li><li>Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based medicine </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Experience with diverse patient populations preferred </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in outpatient oncology practice </li><li>Participation in clinical trials or translational research </li><li>Academic appointment or interest in teaching </li><li>Bilingual skills (Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages common in New York City communities) </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Competitive base salary with productivity incentives </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision) </li><li>Malpractice coverage with tail </li><li>CME allowance and professional development support </li><li>Retirement plan options </li><li>Paid time off and holidays </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Outpatient clinic setting and inpatient consultations with infusion center access </li><li>Multidisciplinary cancer care team </li><li>Modern diagnostic and therapeutic resources </li><li>Opportunity to serve a diverse and vibrant patient population in New York City </li></ul>
