<p>Join Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital as an RN III - Occupational Health Ambulatory Clinic and make a meaningful impact on the health, safety, and wellbeing of a diverse workforce. In this vital role you'll combine clinical nursing skills with preventive health initiatives to keep employees healthy, productive, and safe - while supporting the mission and goals of a world-class health system.</p> <p>What you'll do</p> <ul> <li>Deliver direct, patient-centered occupational health care using current best practices and evidence-based occupational health principles in a very busy, high-acuity ambulatory setting </li><li>Coordinate and manage medical surveillance programs and employee health services in keeping with federal, state, and professional regulations. </li><li>Serve as a clinical resource, educator, and mentor - provide direction and support to team members and employees, help maintain program consistency, and participate in targeted training to raise the standard of care across the department. </li><li>Facilitate referrals to internal and community providers, monitor follow-up, and help navigate return-to-work processes using basic case management skills. </li><li>Enable and support pre-employment new hires to smoothly complete the occupational health screening process </li><li>Support compliance initiatives related to ADA, FMLA, Joint Commission standards, and Alcohol & Drug Testing (NIDA guidelines). </li><li>Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary health care team to improve employee outcomes, streamline workflows, and advance occupational health programs. </li><li>Champion continuous quality improvement efforts that enhance services, reduce risk, and contribute to organizational goals. </li></ul> <p>Why this role is rewarding</p> <ul> <li>Make a visible difference: your work helps employees stay healthy and perform at their best - from preventing workplace injuries to supporting safe return-to-work. </li><li>Professional growth: opportunities for ongoing training, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and experience with medical surveillance and regulatory programs that broaden your occupational health expertise. </li><li>Meaningful teamwork: join a supportive, high-functioning team committed to excellence and collaborative problem-solving. </li><li>Be part of a respected health system: contribute directly to organizational quality and safety initiatives that reflect the values and objectives of Johns Hopkins Medicine. </li></ul> <p>Who succeeds here</p> <ul> <li>RNs with a strong clinical foundation who are motivated to specialize in occupational health. </li><li>Inspired high-achieving RN's who have questioning minds, like to work in a fast-paced ambulatory clinic setting, and have excellent time management and critical thinking skills </li><li>Practical knowledge of medical surveillance, case coordination, and regulatory requirements, with a willingness to learn and grow. </li><li>Excellent communicator and collaborator who thrives in team-based care and values continuous improvement. </li><li>Detail-oriented, organized, and compassionate - able to balance clinical care with programmatic responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Required qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current RN licensure in the jurisdiction where assigned. </li><li>Active BLS/CPR certification. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, ideally in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Department, Outpatient, or Urgent Care settings. </li><li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Certification through the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses (COHN or COHN-S) is highly desirable. </li></ul> <p>If you're an experienced nurse who wants to apply your skills to protect employee health, promote safety, and help shape occupational health services, we'd love to hear from you. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
