We're building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.</p> <p>General Summary</p> <p>Heavy Equipment Mechanics are responsible for safely performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment used in construction and mining.</p> <p>Heavy Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform diagnostic, replacement and repairs on, but not limited to: Caterpillar, Komatsu and John Deere heavy equipment and/or related construction and mining equipment. </li><li>Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs using diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. </li><li>Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. </li><li>Perform mechanical and lubrication routine/preventative maintenance along with safety, operational and mechanical inspections of the equipment. </li><li>Operate a Mechanic truck with crane on job locations, including construction and plant sites. </li><li>Proper use of tools to complete system diagnostic and repairs including but not limited: electronics, hydraulic, engine powertrain, air conditioning, clutch, air brakes, suspension, transmission. </li><li>Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations. </li><li>Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment. </li><li>Read, understand and implement instructions for operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. </li><li>Share in company core values of humility, relationships, continuous improvement, and stewardship. </li></ul> <p>Heavy Equipment Mechanic Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma, or equivalent, preferred </li><li>Five (5) years of experience working directly on the repair of heavy, earth-moving equipment and/or related equipment. </li><li>Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL class A) </li><li>Possess power and hand tools including sockets and wrenches up to 1 ½" and 24mm with other associated tools of the trade. </li><li>Knowledge in the use of computer based diagnostic tools. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to obtain an MSHA Part 46 Certificate (5000-23) as required for the job. </li><li>Maintain safe and secure work environment by complying with government standards and regulations. </li><li>Ability to see details in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings. </li></ul> <p>Work Conditions/ Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work the following schedule: day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours and weekends). </li><li>Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to: safety boots/shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats. </li><li>Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, kneeling, stooping, crawling, and handling of materials. </li><li>Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders. </li><li>Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects, tools and materials. </li><li>Average or better vision (either naturally or with correction). </li><li>Push, pull, lift, or move up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Willingness to travel as required.
