<p>Food Security VISTA- Save the Children and Baylor</p> <p>Save the Children provides wrap-around services to support our education work. This includes offering food security supports to ensure that no child's learning is limited by hunger. Save the Children has a new food security strategy aiming to close food access gaps for the most vulnerable children in rural America. VISTAs will work on food security mapping, needs assessments, partnership development/engagement, and hunger coalition building. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.</p> <p>Member Duties : An AmeriCorps VISTA member will advance statewide food security efforts in South Carolina by strengthening data, partnerships, and systems that improve access to nutritious food for children and families. The member will collect and analyze community-level data on food insecurity, poverty, and food access to build a comprehensive statewide inventory of food assistance programs and create maps and visual tools that identify service gaps and high-need areas. They will prepare reports and summaries to inform stakeholders and guide strategic decisions. The VISTA will re-engage existing partners, recruit new cross-sector partners, and facilitate conversations to assess shared goals and capacity.
