<p>Head Start Aide</p> <p>Job Posting ID: 356Location(s): JacksonEmployment Type: Full TimeJob Type: Hourly - AnnualizedPosted Date: 12/12/2025Deadline: Until FilledPay: $12.62 - $15.15Hours per Day: 8:00:00</p> <p>Head Start Aide</p> <p>Primary Purpose:</p> <p>To assist teachers in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements, to work under the supervision of a classroom teacher.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school graduate or hold a GED certificate</p> </li><li> <p>To comply with the "No Child Left Behind" requirements, at least 48 semester hours of college credit or pass a rigorous test</p> </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Have experience related to working with students or parents</p> </li><li> <p>Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents</p> </li><li> <p>Keyboarding and computer proficiency</p> </li></ul> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments</p> </li><li> <p>Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom</p> </li><li> <p>Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Help the teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports</p> </li><li> <p>Provide orientation and assistance to the substitute teacher when the teacher is absent</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups</p> </li><li> <p>Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty where applicable</p> </li><li> <p>Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems of individual students</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with copying and assembling papers in the office, as requested</p> </li><li> <p>Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business; demonstrates teamwork in daily activities</p> </li><li> <p>Is prompt and timely in completing daily tasks</p> </li><li> <p>Meets attendance standards and complies with campus notification procedures for absences</p> </li><li> <p>If applicable, input, verify, or update PEIMS information as assigned by the supervisor</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations</p> </li><li> <p>Adhere to the district's safety policies and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to perform the essential functions of interacting with students and/or district employees in the specific work site assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Attachments</p> <p>Aide-Instructional ClassDownload Attachment</p>
