Full-time employees of the West Virginia State Treasurer's Office (WVSTO) are eligible for Public Employee Insurance Agency benefits and a number of other benefits available to state employees.</p> <p>Location:Charleston, WV</p> <p>Job Type:Full-Time Permanent; Not in the Classified Service; FLSA: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Division:WVSTO Administration</p> <p>Reports To:Senior Administrative Specialist</p> <p>Nature of Work:</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the Senior Administrative Specialist, this position receives visitors and phone calls for the State Treasurer's Office (STO) while also aiding other areas of the office with administrative duties. Work is performed according to detailed instructions and the methods of work are well established and outlined by the Senior Administrative Specialist. Work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm; position is not eligible for telework.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serves as the chief phone operator; answers and forwards incoming calls that come to the main STO switch board.</p> </li><li> <p>Receives visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides assistance to the Senior Administrative Specialist, Facilities Manager and Assistant Treasurers as requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains office security by following safety procedures and controlling access of STO offices through the use of the facilities security system.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists the WV Retirement Plus division with administrative tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs general filing responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Scans documents.</p> </li><li> <p>Drafts letters and works on mailings.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists other staff as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Notifies Senior Administrative Specialist when potential problems arise.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with related special projects, as required.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent required. Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Excellent verbal communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of general office procedures including typing, filing, and the use of a variety of office equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the correct use of English grammar.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of WVSTO rules, regulations, and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to greet the public and work well with others.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use the WVSTO computer systems.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <p>The State Treasurer's Office provides equal opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other factors made unlawful under applicable federal and state laws.
