To provide additional classroom support as follows:</p> <p>Job Description</p> <ul> <li>Assists the teaching team in planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate activities for young children including the following activities: Self Image, Language/Literacy Development, Music and Movement, Social Studies, Science, Math, Art, Large/Small Motor Activities, and In-Depth Projects. </li><li>Move from classroom-to-classroom based on daily assignments to provide continuous support to classroom teaching staff. </li><li>Assists in providing inclusion support for children with disablities and specail needs. </li><li>Assists with classroom coverage during lunchtime and when back-up coverage is needed. </li><li>Assume responsibility for the management of the classroom during the abamce of regular classroom teaching staff. </li><li>Assists the teaching team in developing a classroom environment that is a welcoming learning environment for children and their families </li><li>Assists with supervision and interaction of children during all activities </li><li>Develops strong partnerships with the families </li><li>Shares responsibility for preparation and clean-up of all classroom activities </li><li>Attends and participates in parent meetings, in-service trainings, and team meetings. </li><li>Assists the classroom teaching staff with supporting the inclusion of diverse learners in classroom routines and activities. </li><li>Maintains reports on children's growth and development </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Possession of credentials required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for employment as a Child Care Assistant. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or 60 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with 6 semester hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age 6 or 1 year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with 6 semester in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age 6.</p> <p>Two years of experience working with children birth - 6 years old</p> <p>Illinois Gateway Level 3 ECE credential</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Meet all University and DCFS hiring requirements, including background check and -Physical Examination </li><li>Follow all DCFS licensing guidelines and all funding and accreditation standards </li><li>Attend required training and professional development. </li><li>Attain Illinois Gatewy Level 3 credential </li></ul> <p>Additional Applicant Information Physical Requirement/ Demands</p> <p>Must be able to physically interact with children, including talk, hear, sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and or move items of up to 40 pounds.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Office/ childcare classroom settings.</p>
