Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$61,500.00 - $91,875.00</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The individual in this 20-hour per week position will work closely with the PI and senior staff to provide program evaluation support and expertise on a diverse array of evaluations of community programs. They will work in collaboration with community organizations to create or refine evaluation plans, logic models, and theories of change. They will design or adapt data collection instruments such as surveys and interview or focus group protocols. They will have experience with qualitative research including facilitating focus groups and key informant interviews and manage, code and analyze qualitative data. They will train and supervise research assistants who conduct interviews, enter and code data, and provide support to the PI and senior staff. In addition, they will work with the PI and senior staff to write evaluation reports and present findings to community partners.</p> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Scientific and Technical Proficiency: Background in molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or physical sciences with experience in techniques such as PCR, sequencing, microscopy, and cell culture.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders, including research staff, study sponsors, and collaborators.</p> </li><li> <p>Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Independent Research: Demonstrated ability to perform independent research, analyze and interpret experimental data, and contribute to scientific reports and publications.</p> </li><li> <p>Team Collaboration: Ability to work well as part of a team, provide instruction and guidance, and contribute to the overall objectives of the research projects.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Knowledge of program evaluation approaches and research methods.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with data visualization using CANVA.</p> </li><li> <p>Expertise in human subjects protections.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with SPSS.</p> </li></ol> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Recommends the design and implementation of procedures and protocols under the direction of a higher-level authority. 2. Investigates, analyzes, and reaches preliminary scientific conclusions related to research planning 3. Ensures data results are compiled, analyzed, and presented properly. 4. Analyzes, develops and interprets scientific results. Maintains clear documentation of results. Prepares scientific reports and papers for research proposals and published reports. 5. Performs independent research and laboratory techniques and participates in experimental research planning. 6. Interacts with internal contacts including the PI, research assistants, graduate students, Radiation Safety and Biological Safety officers, and Animal Care personnel to discuss and evaluate research results and to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the laboratory. 7. Interacts with external contacts such as researchers at other institutions, staff at biotechnology and reagents companies to consult on research methods and to keep abreast of product information and developments. 8. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Master's Degree in a scientific discipline and one year experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li></ol> <p>Background Check Requirements</p> <p>All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements. Healthcare workers (HCW) are defined as university employees working a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients, human research subjects or infectious materials including body substance, contaminated medical supplies, devices and equipment, surfaces, or air.
