<p>The Position:</p> <p>Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Muhlenberg College, a Division III institution and a member of the Centennial Conference is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all phases of the program within the college, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.</p> <p>Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <p>Coaching & Creating a Positive Student-Athlete Experience</p> <ul> <li>Under the general direction of the head coach, provide leadership and support to all facets of the program in advancing the mission of the College and Athletics department. </li><li>Assist in administering a competitive NCAA Division III program in accordance with college, NCAA, and Centennial Conference policies. </li><li>Coach, motivate, counsel, and support student-athletes in realizing their potential for personal growth and development as students, athletes, and members of the Muhlenberg campus community. </li><li>Assist head coach in developing and delivering practices, training sessions, team meetings, and contests. </li><li>Assist in film analysis with individual and team including practice film, game film, and opponent scouting reports. </li></ul> <p>Community & Alumni Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Under the direction of the head coach, promote strong parent, alumni, and community relations. </li><li>Actively participate in fundraising activities in support of the College and Muhlenberg Athletics. </li></ul> <p>Student-Athlete Recruiting & Retention</p> <ul> <li>Establish and meet annual recruitment goals, working with the head coach and Assistant Director of Athletics for Recruitment and Retention to ensure long term recruiting goals are being achieved. </li><li>Maintain recruiting software, monitor the various recruiting services, and analyze national recruiting trends and research/review each area to support recruiting goals. </li><li>Oversee on-campus recruiting, including correspondence and meeting with recruits. </li><li>Participate in off-campus recruiting, including showcases and camps on a year-round basis. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>In collaboration with the Head Coach, develop an annual professional development plan that will ensure awareness of trends, best practices, new information, etc. related to athletics, recreation, student development, and leadership . </li><li>Assume a secondary assignment commensurate with abilities, interests and departmental needs. Including but not limited to game management duties. </li></ul> <p>While no one person may possess all the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will have many of the following professional experiences and characteristics:</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>Minimum two years related professional experience, or a combination of professional and athletic experience leading to a similar qualification required. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Division III philosophy of athletics and adherence to NCAA regulations regarding operation of athletic programs. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to pass Muhlenberg College driving test. Including driving vans when necessary. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and engage with a varied audience, including but not limited to students, parents, College employees, alumni, and community relations. </li><li>Daily, in-person, office hours are expected.
