<p>The Accounts Receivable Specialist will report to the Director of Billing and will be responsible for processing, tracking, researching, and collecting outstanding commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payments accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.</p> <p>The accounts receivable specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions and will be responsible for collection efforts on outstanding accounts.</p> <p>This is a remote position; however, we are only able to consider applicants who reside in the states where we currently operate.</p> <p>2+ Years of Hospice Billing/Collections is Required.</p> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree or equivalent. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous experience in patient accounts receivable</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational and time management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</p> </li><li> <p>Self-starter and resourceful</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in making outbound calls to payors for payment resolution or collections purposes.</p> </li><li> <p>Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify the reasons for unpaid claims. Investigate and resolve payment issues persistently.</p> </li><li> <p>Negotiate: Ability to negotiate payment terms or settlements with payors.</p> </li><li> <p>EMR experience: HCHB or other electronic medical record experience</p> </li><li> <p>Phone etiquette: Professional phone manner and ability to handle customer inquiries or complaints over the phone.</p> </li><li> <p>Math: Strong mathematical skills for calculating remittances, payments, and reconciling accounts.</p> </li><li> <p>Foundational knowledge of Home Health/Hospice Medical Billing</p> </li><li> <p>Debits credits: Understanding of debits and credits in accounting for accurate financial transactions.</p> </li><li> <p>Medical billing: Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance claims submission.</p> </li></ul> <p>Transportation: Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto insurance.</p> <p>Environmental and Working Conditions:</p> <p>Works in a routine office environment. Noise level may be moderate. Must have reliable transportation, valid and current driver's license, and auto insurance.</p> <p>Physical and Mental Effort:</p> <p>Prolonged sitting and some standing is required. Occasional need to lift, pull, carry and push items weighing up to 25 lbs. Frequent need to stoop, kneel, and reach while accessing files. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and agency needs. Requires excellent problem-solving skills.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Monitor and follow up on outstanding payor balances.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with payors regarding payment status and resolve any billing inquiries or disputes.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and collection activity.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate billing and collections.</p> </li></ul> <p>Traditions Health is highly invested in not only your overall health, but also your future.
