<p>Transitional Age Peer Specialist</p> <p>Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job</p> <p>Position Details</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Banner Position Number R10839 Position Title Transitional Age Peer Specialist Classification Title MURC-Other Bus Operations Spec Department Center of Excellence for Recovery - RC1524 Job Description</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Peer Specialist works under the Project Director and the leadership of the Coach to provide peer-to-peer services and support to transitional age youth (TAY) participants in the LevelUp program. This position focuses on youth empowerment, engagement, and plan development to help young adults aged 17-25 achieve positive health outcomes and career success. The Peer Specialist serves as a relatable role model, offering encouragement, guidance, and connecting youth with community resources, educational opportunities, and life skills courses. The Peer Specialist also works collaboratively with schools, youth-serving agencies, and local community partners to foster a healthy, stable pathway for young adults. •</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Peer-to-Peer Support & Services: Provide peer-to-peer support to TAY program participants, guiding them in developing and executing their individual plans for health, education, and career success. Offer encouragement and relatable advice to empower youth as they work through challenges and reach personal goals. </li><li>Collaboration with Local Partners: Work collaboratively with schools, social services, and local youth-serving organizations to engage youth in the LevelUp program and promote positive outcomes. Establish and maintain partnerships that help young adults access resources and opportunities. </li><li>Plan Development & Program Success: Assist participants in developing their personal plans, including educational goals, career pathways, and life skills. Monitor progress and provide ongoing support to ensure successful plan completion and program outcomes. </li><li>Encourage Participation in Educational Programs: Actively encourage youth to participate in educational and life skills courses, ensuring that they remain engaged and focused on completing their development plans. </li><li>Team Participation: Attend and actively participate in all TAY Team meetings, trainings, and conferences. Share insights, experiences, and feedback with the team to improve program delivery and youth outcomes. </li><li>Advocacy & Community Engagement: Serve as an advocate for youth in the community, promoting healthy lifestyles and stable career paths.
