<p>IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Specialist</p> <p>The IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) Specialist is responsible for testing, data wiping, and verifying functionality of desktops, laptops, servers, and related IT equipment after items have been pre-received into the Brokerage Management System (BMS). This role ensures high levels of production quality, accuracy, and adherence to departmental procedures.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Use a scan gun or keyboard to accurately enter data into the Brokerage Management System (BMS). </li><li>Operate a pallet jack to move skids to and from the work area. </li><li>Navigate PC, laptop, and tablet BIOS settings to adjust boot order. </li><li>Launch programs and diagnostics to perform secure drive wiping. </li><li>Use hand tools and power drivers to remove covers, CD-ROMs, batteries, and other components for basic troubleshooting. </li><li>Connect network cables/dongles and boot devices to the network for BMS connectivity. </li><li>Verify general functionality of monitors, printers, and peripheral devices. </li><li>Perform simple self-audits by comparing captured data in BMS to physical product on pallets. </li><li>Demonstrate strong soft skills including positive attitude, teamwork, ownership, and process-improvement mindset. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Eagerness to learn and grow in an IT/warehouse environment. </li><li>Highly motivated, engaged, and able to work well in a team. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs. </li><li>Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced setting. </li><li>Basic knowledge of computer hardware (hard drives, RAM, peripherals). </li><li>Familiarity with inventory systems or barcode scanners is a plus. </li><li>Ability to use hand tools and follow ESD-safe handling. </li><li>Understanding of data wiping or data security concepts (trainable). </li><li>Ability to meet required receiving levels for a minimum of eight (8) consecutive months. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent; prior IT/warehouse experience helpful but not required. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear in person and via multimedia. </li><li>Frequent walking, standing, and movement between work areas; ability to ascend/descend stairs. </li><li>Use of hands to operate tools, IT equipment, and standard office devices. </li><li>Ability to frequently lift IT equipment ranging from 1 lb. to 75 lbs. </li><li>Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. </li></ul> <p>Mental Demands</p> <ul> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to read, interpret, and input data accurately. </li><li>Problem-solving and basic mathematical reasoning capabilities. </li><li>Ability to learn new systems, tools, and processes quickly. </li><li>High attention to detail while managing multiple concurrent tasks. </li><li>Ability to maintain composure and meet performance expectations in a fast-paced, high-quality environment. </li><li>Effective interaction with colleagues, clients, and vendors. </li></ul> <p>Other Job Qualifications & Duties</p> <ul> <li>Perform additional departmental tasks as assigned. </li><li>Assist team members and other departments as needed. </li><li>Work independently and demonstrate strong self-motivation. </li><li>Ability to work varied hours, including weekends, as required. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Pomeroy</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with a wide range of IT hardware and electronics. </li><li>Supportive team environment with opportunities to learn and advance. </li><li>Excellent starting point for a career as an IT Technician, Hardware Repair Technician, or Electronics Technician. </li></ul>
