Join us, and let's work together to shape the future of telecommunications while enjoying a fulfilling and rewarding career.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Verita Telecommunications is seeking a Directional Drill Operator to safely operate a directional drill to place product underground and to work with the Locator to make decision on depths to drill at to avoid hitting underground utilities.</p> <ul> <li>Develop plan for bore shot with onsite team </li><li>Complete Job Site Assessment on every job site. </li><li>Inspect and maintain all job equipment, including drill equipment and mixing unit. </li><li>Assure all safety measures are in place </li><li>Responsible for assisting in potholing, remediation, setting hand holes and pulling fiber. </li><li>Verify existing utilities. </li><li>Operate horizontal drilling equipment for telecommunications projects </li><li>Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are adhered to during operations </li><li>Perform daily maintenance checks on drilling machinery and equipment </li><li>Coordinate with crew members to ensure efficient workflow on job sites </li><li>Monitor drilling progress and make adjustments as needed </li><li>Fill out daily logs and reports to document project progress </li><li>Collaborate with project managers and engineers to meet project timelines </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS (OBTAINABLE/RENEWABLE UPON ACCEPTANCE but required):</p> <ul> <li>CDL Class A preferred </li><li>Driver License Required </li><li>OHSA 10 Certification </li><li>High school diploma, or equivalent </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2 years working (Preferred 3 years) with Vermeer or Ditch Witch DDD, or equivalent required. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years working in telecommunications industry </li><li>Mechanical aptitude may require the individual to do minor equipment repair work </li><li>Proven experience as a Horizontal Drill Operator or similar role </li><li>Strong knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques and equipment </li><li>Valid driver's license and clean driving record, CDL preferred </li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams </li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail </li><li>Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions </li><li>Team player with strong communication skills </li></ul> <p>Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Able to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels and confined spaces and in work settings with moderate to loud noise levels. </li><li>Able to move in different positions - crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted </li><li>Working in inclement weather conditions, heat, cold, rain, ice, snow and wind. </li><li>The position requires clarity of vision with the ability to judge distance and space relationship. </li><li>Ability to identify and distinguish colors. </li><li>Willing to travel when necessary </li></ul> <p>OTHER:</p> <p>Signature Date</p> <p>Employee:</p> <p>Management:</p> <p>The statements included in the description are intended to reflect the general nature and level of work assigned to this classification and should not be interpreted as all inclusive.</p>
