The primary function of this position is performing highly skilled work maintaining, replacing, altering, and repairing landscapes, hardscapes, and irrigation systems and work on retention ponds. Our mission is to provide safe, sustainable, and well-maintained facilities and services through high standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethics.</p> <p>We are committed to providing a work culture that emphasizes mutual respect, trust, career development, and a collaborative work environment that recognizes individual achievements.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>General Functions</p> <p>The Maintenance technician performs a variety of maintenance, service, and repair tasks that may involve buildings, facilities, mechanical equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, or carpentry etc. utilized in the operations of the assigned divisions.</p> <p>Work is assigned and reviewed by a designated supervisor. Performance is evaluated through observation of work in progress and upon completion for achievement of desired results in a safe and efficient manner.</p> <p>Representative Duties/Assignments</p> <p>Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.</p> <ul> <li>Performs quality assurance inspections of contracted landscape contractors for assigned facilities. </li><li>Performs grounds inspections of County properties to ensure landscapes, sidewalks, parking lots, and storm water drainage systems are in proper working condition. </li><li>Performs repairs of landscapes, sidewalks, parking lots, irrigation systems, and storm water drainage systems. </li><li>Document daily work/travel on hand-held electronic device for the purpose of maintaining maintenance records. </li><li>Checks and maintains assigned facility, equipment or system for preventive maintenance and critical operation factors. </li><li>Multi-trade assignments and responsibilities based on daily operational needs. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Graduation from a High school or equivalent and one (1) year of experienceperforming highly skilled journeyman level work, maintaining, installing, altering, and repairing landscapes, hardscapes, and irrigation systems.</p> <p>May be required to possess and maintain the appropriate valid Commercial Driver's License for the type of equipment operated.</p> <p>Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.</p> <p>Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in the repair and replacement of irrigation systems and electrical and hydronic systems. </li><li>Proficient in the repairs of sidewalks, parking lots, storm water systems, and landscaping. </li><li>Strong journeyman level plumbing skills. </li><li>Knowledge of building maintenance in a multi-trade environment on facilities, buildings and building systems. </li><li>Availability to be sent on maintenance calls and assist other skilled trades' personnel when needed. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment. </li></ul> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>Open Date: 03/18/2025</p> <p>Close Date: 04/01/2025</p> <p>This posting is subject to close without prior notice.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Pay Grade: 107 - From $16.65 to $21.72</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Placement based on Education and Experience</p> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>10 paid holidays andup to 2 floating holidays annually. </li><li>18 days paid time off per year. </li><li>Longevity bonus based on years of service. </li><li>6 days of paid TERM (sick) time annually. </li><li>Low-cost medical, dental, vision, additional life insurance. </li><li>Free basic life, long term disability, and employee assistance for all the family members effective on day one. </li><li>Participation in the Florida Retirement System. </li><li>Employee assistance program includes multiple free one on one sessions with licensed counselors and online tools for legal advice, financial planning, personal life balance, etc. </li><li>Free access to Wellworks gyms and OrangeCounty Recreation Centers. </li><li>Free onsite wellness coaching, including dietician and nurse. </li><li>Tuition reimbursement program. </li><li>Earn service time to forgive student loans. </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer: Benefits mayvary for employees under collective bargaining agreements.</p> <p>For more information on Benefits visit - https://www.ocfl.net/EmploymentVolunteerism/EmployeeBenefits.aspx</p> <p>Veterans Preference</p> <p>If you are claiming Veterans' Preference, you are responsible for providing the required eligibility documentation by the closing date of the posting.
