<p>Closing Date: May 19, 2025 @ 11:00pm CST, or upon the receipt of 50 application submissions.</p> <p>Clerical Specialist</p> <p>Department: Community Reintegration Center</p> <p>Full-time, Hourly</p> <p>Hourly Range: $16.70 - $25.05/hr</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Coordination of admission records to ensure the lawful commitment of residents. Review legal documents accompanying all admissions. Interpret commitment/conviction papers and compute complex court orders to determine sentence structure and conditions of the sentence, ensuring accuracy and conformance with legal requirements.</p> <p>Schedule: Required to work 2nd shift (2pm-10pm) and 3rd shift (10pm-6am), including assigned weekends and holidays. Occasional mandatory overtime is required.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Determine Sentence Status - Determine under what conditions the sentence is to be served (i.e., straight time, community access, conditions of probation, es/gps monitoring). </li><li>Re-Calculate Sentences - As a result of additional/amended sentences. Verify CCAP, JOC's and 1047's; contact sentencing courts to verify or clarify information. </li><li>Process Paperwork - Make any changes and adjustments if needed to update current booking of all residents who had recent court appearances. </li><li>Authorization of Resident Release - Use legal documentation provided by the courts, probation department and various law enforcement agencies in order to authorize release. </li><li>Communication - Correspond with judges, attorneys, legal aid societies, public defenders, probation agents, law enforcement agencies, out of state government and correctional services and the public regarding current residents. </li><li>Award additional good conduct - Award additional good conduct based on entry date, sentence date, length of sentence and institutional behavior under guidelines in WI State Stature 302.43. Enter good days for qualifying sentences. </li><li>Process of Judgement of Convictions - Check accuracy and make appropriate changes to bookings per court order(s). Process paperwork for probation department and courts for judgements received. </li><li>Calculate Release Dates - Update all status changes that would impact their current incarceration, making any notable change needed to abide by court order. </li><li>Update Documentation from Department of Corrections (DOC) - Coordinate revocation orders, provide credit dates for condition time/sanction time served and provide credit dates for residents sentenced to the DOC. </li><li>Resident Grievances - Read and respond to grievances when received. </li><li>Ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.; ability to carry and lift up to 40 lbs. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Education, License/Certification and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required </li><li>Valid Wisconsin Driver's License upon application required and must be maintained throughout employment </li><li>High School Diploma or GED required </li><li>One (1) year or more of work experience in a clerical support role required </li><li>Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams required </li><li>Previous data entry experience required </li><li>Excellent communication skills via phone or in person interactions required </li><li>Excellent organizational skills required </li><li>Must be able to work independently </li></ul> <p>NOTE: This ORIGINAL APPLICATION is open to qualified residents of the State of Wisconsin at the time of application.
