<p>Job Description</p> <p>ECU Health</p> <p>About ECU Health Medical Center</p> <p>ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Referral Coordinator must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate operations of the referral processes, including, but not limited to pre-certifications, and scheduling appointments. Coordinate operations and processes of the Centralized Referral Office. Office equipment operation and additional duties as required by practice manager.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate operations and processes </li><li>Collaborate with medical practices/facilities to schedule referral appointments, diagnostic testing, and imaging procedures timely. </li><li>Coordinate referral appointment information and testing/visit instructions to patients by telephone or letter. </li><li>Maintaining Excel spreadsheet Referral Log. </li><li>Fax required documents (office notes and orders) to non-EHR practices/facilities in preparation of patient's visit/test. </li><li>Scan documents (office notes/test results) into EHR from non-EHR practices/facilities. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>High School or higher plus 1-2 years formal training/education is required.</p> <p>Must possess CPT and ICD-9/10 coding knowledge.
