<p>Department: Marketing</p> <p>Shift: Various shifts from 5am-10pm (Salaried)</p> <p>Reports to: Marketing Manager and President</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Are you ready to bring your creativity, graphic, and technical skills to life in a dynamic, fast-paced retail furniture environment? We are seeking a Graphic & Print Production Manager to lead the design and production of high-quality graphics, signage, and print materials for our network of 18 retail stores. From bold outdoor signage to detailed in-store posters, your work will directly shape the customer experience and brand identity across all locations. The ideal Graphic & Print Production Manager is someone who can juggle a wide array of projects and responsibilities with tight deadlines, attention to detail, is self-motivated, and possesses a good attitude with excellent customer service skills.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <p>Typical duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Manage the end-to-end production process for a variety of print and graphic projects, including indoor/outdoor signs, posters, banners, promotional materials, and in-store displays. </li><li>Operate and maintain state-of-the-art printing and finishing equipment to ensure efficient, high-quality output. </li><li>Collaborate with the Executives, Marketing, Retail, and Operations teams to understand project goals, timelines, and specifications. </li><li>Oversee scheduling, workflow, and prioritization of multiple concurrent projects while meeting tight deadlines. </li><li>Maintain a consistent brand identity across all printed materials and signage. </li><li>Troubleshoot technical and production issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruptions. </li><li>Source and manage relationships with external vendors when outsourcing is required. </li><li>Maintain inventory of print materials, substrates, and supplies. </li><li>Ensure quality control at every step of the production process, from concept through to final installation or delivery. </li><li>Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. </li><li>Serves as the point of contact person for all graphic and print productions. </li><li>All other duties assigned by the Marketing Manager and Executives </li></ul> <p>Compensation Package:</p> <p>Pay rate: Salary grade G from $59,441-$110,390 per year DOE</p> <p>Supervision Given and Received:</p> <p>This position supervises a staff of one or more employees any given time. This position is supervised directly by the E-Commerce Director and President.</p> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in graphic design and print production (minimum 3-5 years preferred, retail environment preferred). </li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and large-format printers. </li><li>Strong understanding of print production techniques, materials, and processes. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational and time-management skills. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. </li><li>Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong customer service orientation. </li><li>Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams. </li><li>Familiarity with signage installation processes is a plus. </li><li>Ability to lift materials and perform physical tasks associated with print production. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on AFW's success </li><li>Strategic planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. </li><li>Ability to lead team meetings and motivate others </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. </li></ul> <p>Personal Competencies:</p> <p>To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Analytical - Ability to analyze, collect and research data and read reports, fierce attention to detail. </li><li>Mathematical Skills -Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. </li><li>Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. </li><li>Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; contributes to building positive team spirit; supports everyone's efforts to succeed. </li><li>Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition. </li><li>Interpersonal Skills - Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality; remains open to others & ideas and tries new things. </li><li>Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures; supports AFW's goals and values. </li><li>Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process; makes timely decisions. </li><li>Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; works well in group problem solving situations; has a cooperative spirit; ability and authority to plan work, meet deadlines and coordinate time sensitive activities across personnel in multiple departments. </li><li>Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently. </li><li>Safety and Security - Observes and leads safety and security procedures and initiatives. </li><li>Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Must be available to travel and work more than standard hours when necessary. </li></ul> <p>Computer Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, type 25+ wpm, advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), advanced internet research skills </li><li>Graphic Design Software: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); working knowledge of Acrobat and other design tools. </li><li>Print Production Software: Familiarity with RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, VersaWorks, etc.), and digital front-end interfaces used with large-format and digital printers. </li><li>File Management: Strong understanding of file types, resolution, color modes (CMYK/RGB), bleeds, and print-ready file preparation. </li><li>Production Equipment Interfaces: Experience operating and troubleshooting wide-format printers, plotters, laminators, cutters, and other finishing equipment using their respective software. </li><li>Project Management Tools: Working knowledge of productivity and project-tracking tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, or Asana/Trello (or similar platforms). </li><li>Basic IT Troubleshooting: Comfort with basic network setup for print devices, firmware/software updates, and minor system troubleshooting. </li></ul> <p>Certificates and Licenses:</p> <p>Certifications and licenses related to graphic design, printing, marketing, and related software, are preferred.</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>Four-year college or university degree; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. </li><li>Must be able to lift 15 to 75 pounds at times. </li><li>Must be able to access and navigate each department at various facilities. </li><li>Ability to operate a motor vehicle. </li><li>Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas. </li><li>Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 a day. </li><li>Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back. </li></ul> <p>American Furniture Warehouse is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
