We offer career opportunities where you can contribute and grow.</p> <p>Start your journey with us</p> <p>The Cincinnati Insurance Companies' Personal Lines department is currently seeking an underwriting assistant.</p> <p>Hourly Rate of Pay: The pay rate for this position is $20.00 an hour. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.</p> <p>Be ready to:</p> <ul> <li>communicate with Personal Lines Operations and agency on new business quotes to ensure required information is obtained and coverage terms are appropriate based on risk submitted </li><li>review quotes for accuracy before submitting to agency in a timely manner </li><li>collaborate with Personal Lines Operations and agency on endorsement and processing requests to maintain high service standards </li><li>evaluate high net worth home inspection reports to confirm accurate application of credits and surcharges, identify underwriting hazards and support our efforts for insurance to value; communicate requirements or recommendations to underwriter or agency as needed </li><li>collaborate with underwriting and/or PL marketing representatives on high net worth new business submissions after analyzing and evaluating risk exposure, including reviewing state specific workflows; uses available resources such as applications, MVRs, loss history, inspections and other models to support analysis and help pre-qualify the account for consideration by underwriter </li><li>support the review of high net worth renewal accounts by evaluating key measures, such as pricing, coverage terms and claims activity; communicate findings and provide recommendations to underwriting </li><li>support underwriting workflow by following up on certain underwriting tasks and handling other administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to risk reports, change of address notifications, pending transactions and other processing functions in the Diamond system </li><li>monitor territory's book profile, new business quote activity and retention figures and alert underwriting to issues or opportunities requiring further review </li><li>assist underwriters with back-up support of e-mails and phone calls </li><li>research and gather needed information in regards to coverage questions, state issues, workflows and refer to underwriter/team leader when necessary </li><li>handle special projects and other assignments as directed </li></ul> <p>Be equipped with:</p> <ul> <li>excellent interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis in customer service, including phone contact with agents </li><li>ability to prioritize work </li><li>proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook a plus </li><li>ability to apply common sense in carrying out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form </li><li>strong attention to detail </li><li>willingness to work and learn with a sense of urgency as part of a team in a fast-paced environment </li><li>creative thinking and problem-solving skills </li><li>ability to think independently, quickly and effectively </li><li>ability to be open and flexible to change </li><li>comfortable with high volume workloads and production standards </li><li>willingness to learn Diamond processing and issuing system </li><li>ability to navigate web-based applications </li><li>willing to complete web-based research as needed </li></ul> <p>You've earned:</p> <ul> <li>college degree preferred, but not required </li><li>AINS certification is preferred, but completion within three years of start date if selected for the position is also acceptable </li></ul> <p>Enhance your talents</p> <p>Providing outstanding service and developing strong relationships with our independent agents are hallmarks of our company.
