<ul> <li>Understands all aspects of post-operative care, to include assessments and potential complications. </li><li>Takes appropriate safety and infection control measures at all times. Has working knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation. </li><li>Maintains and evaluates own clinical expertise and clinical practice, demonstrates the importance of continuing education to the performance of facility responsibilities and growth in profession. </li><li>Conducts quality review audits as assigned by manager or designee. </li><li>Maintains flexibility with scheduling and job assignments in order to cover patient needs. </li><li>Fosters a positive and professional ambulatory surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member. </li><li>Participates in committees, work groups, and meetings as deemed necessary. Can demonstrate measurable results an meet target dates. </li><li>Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and takes part in shared leadership. </li><li>Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and ACLS </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge and application of the nursing process utilizing standards set forth for Nursing Practice by the ANA and ASPAN </li><li>Organizes, modifies, evaluates, documents, and maintains the plan of care for PACU patients based on total assessment and the age of the patients. </li><li>Participates and cooperates in the unit-based Quality Improvement processes. </li><li>Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers. </li><li>Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient's right to privacy by protecting confidential information. </li><li>Evaluates and documents patient's response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on clinical condition, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology of patient. </li><li>Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient's care which results in patient harm </li><li>Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements. </li><li>Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered. </li><li>Regular, punctual and dependable attendance </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects MACC's commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service.</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. </li><li>Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. </li><li>Must read, write and communicate in English. </li><li>Basic Life Support and ACLS Certification required. </li><li>Critical Care experience preferred </li><li>Knowledge of applicable regulatory, compliance, and accreditation standards and requirements </li></ul>
