Primary responsibilities of the position include student hiring and financial management and advisement., tuition abatements, coordination of the graduate program course schedule, providing assistance to concentration directors in regards to APA accreditation, curriculum requirements, student applications, progression, and graduation requirements and compiling student data into reports when requested. The Psychology Department offers a Ph.D. in Psychology with four concentrations: Cognitive & Neural Science, School Psychology, Clinical Community Psychology and Quantitative Psychology. This position functions as a liaison between the department and the Graduate School and helps develop and administer policies and procedures for the doctoral program to ensure conformance with the American Psychological Association, the University and Graduate School requirements.</p> <p>Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. </li></ul> <p>Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with student services, coordination of course scheduling, skills in collecting and summarizing student data, and compliance with federal, state and university policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and managerial skills. </li><li>Knowledge of MS Word operating systems and database management including Access and Excel. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Advises the graduate program director and faculty members of all Graduate School regulations and serves as liaison for interactions with the Graduate School. Creates departmental admission files and detailed applicant spreadsheets for each of the four graduate programs in the Psychology Department. Coordinates procedures to ensure timely completion of milestones and submission of paperwork. Coordinates Graduate student seminars and defenses. Conducts the Graduation Clearance process and informs all students of deadlines as well as details for graduation day. Completes annual advising sessions with all graduate students to document progress to degree. Follows and ensures compliance with federal state and University policies and procedures.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty</p> <p>Coordinates and assist with the American Psychological Association (APA) accreditation process for the Clinical-Community and School Psychology Graduate Programs. Prepares and responds to all requests for reports concerning student information, completes annual report with website updates, maintains data for APA accreditation, conducts research and analysis, and prepares reports as requested by American Psychological Association, National Research Consortium, National Research Council/National Institutes of Health, along with reports requested by the Dean.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty</p> <p>Coordinates and processes the graduate student assistantships and outside student contracts. Hires students by using the online student hiring system. Coordinates the assignment of the Graduate Assistants to Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, and Graduate Teaching in coordination with the Graduate Director. Coordinates the scheduling of all graduate level classes for the graduate programs for each semester. Processes tuition abatements, process externship contracts for approval by legal services, and work with bursar's office to ensure payment of externship contracts.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty</p> <p>Assists the Graduate Director with graduate student recruitment efforts. Coordinates the logistics of visiting prospective graduate students to include processing travel, receipts, etc. Assist students with course requirements and registration and informs students of their fiscal responsibilities with respect to fees, etc. Inform all students of any relevant fellowship or scholarship opportunities. Submit nominations for prospective students to receive Graduate School awards. Processes student awards through the financial aid office.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty</p> <p>Edits and updates program information. Ensures that all program and course material is current based on Graduate School and Department requirements. Update student handbooks prior to entry of each new graduate cohort and post on the websites.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 5 Job Duty</p> <p>Assist in formulating agenda items and take minutes at various committee and program meetings. Responds to all outside requests for information regarding admission to the graduate programs in the Psychology Department.
