This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>We are looking for a highly motivated, and customer focused to join our team during the summer season as a Spa Massage Therapist! In this role, you are responsible for the guest experience within the resort/hotel spa and ensuring those guests have an enjoyable, relaxing experience by engaging with the guests in a courteous and efficient manner. The Massage Therapist performs professional quality massages and body therapy services for spa guests.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provides massage treatments and body treatments for clientele in a consistent manner as directed by the Spa of the Pines protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Designs specific sessions based on client consultation to determine what level of intensity or areas to target for service.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the promotion of the health and wellness benefits to clients receiving massage therapy on a regular basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Creates memorable guest/client experience through professional, friendly, and helpful attitude. Follows all practice policies and protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Must maintain current clientele while continuing to build new clientele.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure outstanding service through upholding spa flow of greeting the guest, consultation, treatment and closing.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommend products for home use and suggest other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all treatments begin and end on time.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure work areas are clean, and equipment is disinfected according to procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with guests to resolve issues and escalate when needed to supervisor or manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains current on all licensure and insurance.</p> </li><li> <p>Create and maintain guest files according to procedures.</p> </li></ol> <p>MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions as determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the hotel.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Respond to and complete any other tasks assigned by management.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend staff and property meetings.</p> </li></ol> <p>ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:</p> <p>Indoors: Spa and retail setting. Includes various hot and cold temperatures, slippery and wet surfaces, concrete, title, and wood flooring. Dimly lit / soft lighting in service rooms. Works independently.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE - The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>Two - Four years of experience as a Massage Therapist preferred. Or a combination of certified education and experience.</p> <p>Certified Massage License.</p> <p>Previous spa and retail sales experience preferred. Support the retail sales of the spa's products by upselling goods and services.</p> <p>Must have excellent bedside manners.</p> <p>Must have physiological knowledge.</p> <p>Must be able to focus on customer service, well beyond what is typically required of an independent massage therapist.</p> <p>Must know, understand, promote, and follow proper health and safety standards including creating a safe and effective environment.</p> <p>Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> <p>Must have superior procedural skills with the ability to endure labor-intensive, demanding, and constant physical effort and precision when providing massage services within a set time frame.</p> <p>Must have the stamina to perform massages back-to-back, seeing up to eight guests in a row.</p> <p>Must be able to connect with various types of personalities.</p> <p>Must have the maturity to remain flexible in the face of guest who reschedule and cancel. Work with guest to find another date and time that meets the guests schedule.</p> <p>Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly to ascertain and document client information.</p> <p>Must be able to work various schedules, including days/nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.</p> <p>Must have reliable transportation to and from work.</p> <p>Compensation Range</p> <p>The compensation for this position is $16.50/Hr. - $16.50/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.</p>
