<p>This Position Is Funded In Part Through Federal Funds</p> <p>The User Support Technician I position provides first-line IT support to internal and external users across the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This role is housed within the IT Customer Support Center of the DHHS Information Technology Division (ITD), which handles technical assistance requests related to hardware, software, user accounts, and application performance. This position resolves incoming issues, maintains security protocols, and ensures customer satisfaction through consistent service delivery.</p> <p>This position supports the broader ITD mission by facilitating access to essential applications and ensuring rapid incident resolution. Responsibilities span monitoring system operations, supporting account provisioning, and participating in key testing and implementation efforts. The position directly contributes to ITD's goal of delivering secure, responsive, and reliable technology services to DHHS program areas.</p> <p>Key Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responding to user inquiries via phone, email, and other channels, documenting issues in the incident management system.</p> </li><li> <p>Investigating and resolving technical problems related to applications, PC/LAN environments, printers, and user access.</p> </li><li> <p>Assigning RACF IDs and managing access rights for over 30,000 system control records across DHHS programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Training county security control officers on proper RACF account setup and maintenance procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitoring application and system uptime and assisting technical staff with issue triage and escalation.</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting help desk operations that receive 250-350 requests daily, assisting with issue tracking and ticket resolution.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting with system testing and implementation of new applications and enhancements in collaboration with development teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Performing NCID and NCMAIL account administration, including resets, moves, deactivations, and troubleshooting.</p> </li><li> <p>Creating and updating internal training materials to support staff onboarding and procedural accuracy.</p> </li><li> <p>Executing IMS database commands and monitoring transactions in test and production environments.</p> </li></ul> <p>About the NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS):</p> <p>The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees.
