<p>Job Title: Weld EngineerJob Description</p> <p>The primary focus of this role is the development and implementation of a comprehensive, standardized welding program tailored to the plant's three core value streams: Carriages, Attachments, and Cylinders. This position is dedicated to designing a detailed framework that establishes clear guidelines, best practices, and streamlined processes for all welding operations across these areas. The goal is to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality in weld practices while aligning with production goals and safety standards.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform welding operative procedures and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). </li><li>Cooperate with the production engineering department to improve Welding Process Technologies. </li><li>Conduct welding process and welder qualifications. </li><li>Address supplier welding issues. </li><li>Analyze welding and metallurgical problems. </li><li>Collaborate with the Quality and Engineering Departments to verify the adequacy of the welding AWS or ISO 3834-2 processes ensuring correct execution. </li><li>Develop and document welding procedures that comply with AWS or ISO standards. </li><li>Implement quality assurance measures, including regular inspections, to verify compliance with AWS or ISO 3834. </li><li>Collaborate closely with the production engineering department to analyze current welding processes and identify opportunities for optimization. </li><li>Conduct thorough investigations to identify the root causes of welding and metallurgical problems. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in welding engineering, robotic welding, and use of Fanuc robots. </li><li>Experience with weld robots. </li><li>Quality experience including root cause analysis, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, AWS, ISO 9001, 8D, A3, and 5 Why's. </li><li>Experience in metallurgical processes. </li><li>Knowledge of weld technology, joining processes, root cause analysis, metallurgical engineering, ISO standards, and AWS. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Technical Discipline. </li><li>Certified Weld Instructor (CWI) License/Certificate. </li><li>3+ years of weld engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>3+ years of weld robotics programming experience, preferably with Fanuc robots, with the ability to program from scratch. </li><li>Experience or ability to physically MIG weld. </li><li>Familiarity with ISO and AWS quality standards. </li><li>Certified Weld Engineer Certification (CWE). </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This is a fully on-site position during the 1st Shift from 7:30 am to 4:15 pm, averaging 40 hours a week. Weekend work is very rare, with occasional straight time on Saturday or Sunday.
