Work typically involves contact with Town employees, applicants, and the public, and requires the exercise of considerable judgment, initiative, confidentiality, and discretion based on knowledge of departmental or Town policies and procedures. This position also involves maintaining and updating various types of records and documentation; processing invoices and requisitions using the Town's financial system; answering and directing incoming calls and emails; working in payroll and HR information systems; and coordinating various HR programs and processes.</p> <p>This position is open until filled with first review of applications on September 16, 2025.</p> <p>For more detailed job descriptions, please visit the Town's Job Descriptions page.</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>Eight (8) years of progressively responsible administrative and/or human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). </li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills and demonstrated ability to handle confidential material in strict confidence. </li><li>Associate's Degree with coursework in human resources, business administration, public administration, or related field(s). </li><li>Local government experience. </li><li>Experience with Laserfiche, Munis ERP, NeoGov, a learning management system, and/or HRIS administration. </li><li>Bilingual in English/Spanish. </li></ul> <p>Employee Benefits</p> <p>The Town offers competitive compensation, affordable health insurance coverage, participation in the Virginia Retirement System, an optional 457(b) retirement plan with a Town matching contribution, flexible spending accounts, voluntary benefits, employee assistance program (EAP), membership to the Town's full-service recreation center, an optional payroll Roth IRA, and generous paid time off.
