<p>Westminster University</p> <p>Clinical Placement Coordinator, Graduate Nursing Program</p> <p>Location: Hybrid - includes both remote work and on-campus responsibilities</p> <p>Campus address: 1840 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84105</p> <p>Work Schedule: 30 hours per week</p> <p>Employment Category: Benefits Eligible</p> <p>About the Role:</p> <p>The Clinical Placement Coordinator, Graduate Nursing Program will act as an administrative assistant to obtain, organize, and facilitate clinical rotations at various inpatient and out-patient healthcare facilities for students in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program at Westminster University.</p> <p>This role involves close collaboration with the program director, FNP faculty, clinical instructors, and FNP students to prepare, assign, and onboard students to their clinical rotations. Additionally, the Clinical Placement Coordinator is tasked with identifying, evaluating, and establishing contracts with clinical sites on an ongoing basis.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Higher Education Coursework. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>Demonstrated professionalism and strong interpersonal conduct in a professional setting. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and professional conduct when interacting with students, faculty, and clinical partners. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in clinical placement coordination or within a healthcare or higher education environment. </li><li>Familiarity with nursing education requirements, accreditation standards, and clinical compliance processes. </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Securing Clinical Placement Sites:</p> <ul> <li>Identify and establish partnerships with healthcare facilities and clinical sites for student rotations. </li><li>Maintain and update a list of approved clinical sites. </li></ul> <p>Coordinating Clinical Rotations:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Program Director, FNP faculty, NP students, and clinical partners to assign clinical placements based on curriculum requirements and student needs. </li><li>Ensuring all students attend the required orientations before starting their rotation </li><li>Ensure that students are placed in appropriate clinical settings to meet their learning objectives. </li></ul> <p>Ensuring Compliance and Accreditation:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that clinical placements meet institutional, state, and accreditation standards. </li><li>Keep accurate records of contracts, agreements, evaluations, and surveys for accreditation purposes. </li></ul> <p>Monitoring and Supporting Students:</p> <ul> <li>Provide ongoing support to students during their clinical rotation onboarding. </li><li>Address any concerns or issues related to student performance, clinical site conditions, or clinical partner relationships. </li><li>Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and clinical partners to ensure effective learning experiences. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration and Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the main point of contact for clinical sites, faculty, and students. </li><li>Facilitate regular communication between clinical sites and the nursing program to address any issues and ensure smooth operations. </li></ul> <p>Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:</p> <ul> <li>Address and resolve any issues that may arise between students, faculty, or clinical sites. </li></ul> <p>Continuous Improvement:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate and improve clinical coordination processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness. </li><li>Gather feedback from students, faculty, and clinical partners to enhance the clinical education experience. </li></ul> <p>Compliance and Documentation</p> <ul> <li>Ensuring students submit required health records, immunizations, background checks, and drug screenings. </li><li>Tracking documentation renewals and communicating with students regarding due dates and clinical rotation clearance. </li><li>Confirming completion of any hospital-required training modules (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, patient safety). </li></ul> <p>Skills and Competencies:</p> <p>The required skills for this role include administrative and organizational skills, which will be utilized to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and details efficiently. Communication and interpersonal skills are essential to foster effective relationships with students, faculty, and clinical partners. Collaboration and teamwork will be employed to facilitate coordination between academic programs and healthcare organizations to ensure seamless student placement.
