We are dedicated to building and nurturing an inclusive and equitable environment for all students, staff, and stakeholders.</p> <p>We are seeking a professional, who enjoys working with students on academic, social, and mental health goals. The Adjustment Counselor position will involve a caseload of students grades 9-12 and work in collaboration with the Student Support Team.</p> <p>POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for supporting student's social and emotional needs and delivering/supporting high quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards and the rules and regulations of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District.</p> <p>PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Responsible for delivery of the guidance and adjustment curriculum Responsible for effective management of the assigned caseload Responsible for ongoing collaboration with fellow Guidance Counselors, School Adjustment counselors, and Administration to support the diverse needs of learners Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement, regulation, and emotional growth Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, with 504 plans and\or second language learners Responsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individual regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, gender identity, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessness Performance of other job-related duties as assigned</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Required certification in Massachusetts DESE license in School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor 8-12 2.SEI Endorsement 3.BA Degree</p> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Dual certification in School Adjustment Counseling and Guidance Counseling</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Experience working with students who are English language learners </li><li>Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Candidates will need to apply for and pay for the DESE license as a condition of employment. </li></ol> <p>REPORTS TO: Guidance Department Head and School Principal</p> <p>SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Educators' Association contract.
