<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Product Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the council's short- and long-term product sales strategy within an assigned region. This role leads the regional implementation of the annual girl-led product sales tactical plan to ensure the success of council product sales programs, volunteer engagement, and member participation.</p> <p>The Product Sales Manager provides leadership, training, coordination, and ongoing support to Product Sales Volunteers while fostering strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional program outcomes. This position serves as a key ambassador of the Girl Scout mission by promoting outstanding customer service, operational excellence, and adherence to council policies and procedures.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the council's product sales programs within an assigned region, including product distribution, inventory logistics, and merchandise delivery. </li><li>Recruit, train, coach, and support Product Sales Volunteers to ensure successful program implementation and strong volunteer engagement. </li><li>Partner closely with Girl Experience/Program staff to integrate the programmatic and leadership development components of council product sales initiatives. </li><li>Monitor regional sales performance, maintain accurate electronic records, and prepare regular reports for the Director of Product Sales & Retail and/or Chief Operations Officer. </li><li>Implement and ensure compliance with council product sales policies, procedures, and risk management standards. </li><li>Support council-wide marketing and communication efforts that promote Girl Scout product programs within the community. </li><li>Ensure troops complete all required ACH payment steps and assist with follow-up related to late, delinquent, or unpaid balances. </li><li>Track expenses, support budget oversight, and contribute to financial planning efforts related to regional product sales operations. </li><li>Champion and strengthen a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by ensuring staff, volunteers, and girl experiences reflect the council's values. </li><li>Participate in council events, product booths, trainings, and community engagement opportunities as needed. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrates exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, families, vendors, and community partners. </li><li>Communication: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills across in-person, virtual, and electronic platforms. </li><li>Organization & Project Management: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and competing deadlines. </li><li>Financial Acumen: Ability to monitor budgets, track expenses and revenues, and support collections follow-up. </li><li>Volunteer Leadership: Proven ability to recruit, motivate, develop, and retain volunteer teams to achieve program and sales goals. </li><li>Collaboration: Works effectively across departments to align product sales initiatives with broader council goals. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, operations, volunteer management, or a supervisory leadership role. </li><li>Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups of staff, volunteers, youth, families, and vendors. </li><li>Experience working in a cross-functional, team-based environment. </li><li>Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel and reporting tools. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strong organizational, analytical, and relationship-building skills. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements & Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Statewide travel required. </li><li>Valid Connecticut driver's license required. </li><li>Must provide proof of personal vehicle liability insurance. </li><li>Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support product sales events and organizational needs. </li><li>Active participation in scheduled Girl Scouts events is required. </li><li>Must become and maintain membership in GSUSA. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with frequent travel throughout the state. Responsibilities include driving, standing for extended periods, and supporting indoor and outdoor events in varying weather conditions. The role also requires frequent lifting, moving, and transporting product materials and event supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.</p>
