Through our research, outreach and entrepreneurial projects, Clemson University and its employees are driving economic development and improving quality of life in South Carolina and beyond.</p> <p>So,... are you ready?</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Responsible for supporting clinical operations of mobile health units delivering prevention, primary care, chronic disease, business/employee health, and lifestyle education. Serves as primary driver/operator of mobile health units, coordinating equipment and maintenance, with travel across South Carolina and neighboring states. Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES:</p> <p>30% - Essential - Mobile Health Unit coordinator/operator:</p> <p>Ensures readiness of mobile health unit vehicle(s) for outreach activities. Coordinates maintenance of mobile units, ensuring appropriate timing and scheduling for minimal impact on clinic operations. Coordinates with unit vendors as needed. Serves as primary driver/operator for the assigned mobile health unit(s). Understands key mobile health unit operating systems, conducts proper setup and tear-down procedures, connection with electrical charging, and basic troubleshooting/minor repairs of the mobile unit and its operating systems. May operate mobile health unit(s) in any of the 46 counties of SC and/or neighboring states (if applicable).</p> <p>30% - Essential - Delivers lifestyle / health education:</p> <p>Develops, coordinates, disseminates lifestyle/health education under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider with a focus on chronic disease management, with a primary focus on diabetes, but also including hypertension, cancer, obesity, congestive heart failure, and COPD. Lifestyle education may involve one on one or group education with topics related to nutrition, physical activity and behavior change. Monitors SDOH factors affecting health and assists patients with goal setting to achieve behavior change. Accurately documents in electronic health record. Utilizes electronic health record reporting tools to monitor patient outcomes and modify programs as needed.</p> <p>15% - Essential - Facilitation of patient/group activity through technology:</p> <p>Responsible for inputting patient level data into electronic health record and other platforms (e.g., MyChart, Carium). Responsible for registering patients, documenting progress, and connecting with clinicians as necessary. Facilitates use of telepathy platforms and mobile health solutions in support of lifestyle education. Utilizes appropriate technology to recruit, track and communicate with patients, including social media. Assists clinicians with remote patient monitoring of chronic disease.</p> <p>15% - Essential - Clinic Support, Research Support and Administration:</p> <p>Provides direct support in helping facilitate clinic (mobile and fixed) in delivery of care. Patient support may include health insurance screening, patient navigation, clinical visit logistics, assisting with care documentation, calling patients (pre- and/or post-visit), etc. Clinic support may include financial collections, use of electronic health records for a variety of tasks, patient scheduling, demonstrating use of patient portal for patients, and delivering reporting requirements. May assist clinical staff and investigators with implementing approved clinical research protocols. Successfully completes assigned training including protection of human subjects in research courses.</p> <p>10% - Essential - Conducts Outreach and Assists in Building Community Collaborations:</p> <p>Serves as link between community resources and patients to improve health and well-being of communities at large. Serve as liaison between clinicians and community resources.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - Health Education, Health Promotion or related fields</p> <p>Work Exp 1+ years supporting community health, primary care, or mobile health operations</p> <p>Current valid South Carolina driver's license; if applicable, valid paramedic or EMT certification</p> <p>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education - 1st Master's Degree and/or EMT or paramedic certificate.</p> <p>Paramedic and/or EMT training to complement degree.</p> <p>2+ years working in prehospital care, primary care clinics, or related outreach organization.</p> <p>Current state/national registered certification as paramedic or EMT; current BLS.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>JOB KNOWLEDGE</p> <p>Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Supervises Student Workers only - Supervises Student workers only</p> <p>BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>20% - Stand for prolonged period</p> <p>20% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period</p> <p>50% - Walk or move about</p> <p>20% - Use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc</p> <p>10% - Ascend or descend (i.e. stairs, ladder)</p> <p>5% - Position self to accomplish task (i.e. stoop, kneel, crawl)</p> <p>80% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself</p> <p>50% - Recognize or inspect visually</p> <p>30% - Move, transport, raise or lower</p> <p>10% - Extends hands or arms in any direction</p> <p>100% - Perceive, observe, clarity of vision</p> <p>Will primarily operate from a mobile health unit which requires driving, setup, tear-down.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>30% - Exposure to heat or cold</p> <p>20% - Wet or humid</p> <p>5% - Noise</p> <p>10% - Vibration</p> <p>15% - Exposure to bio-hazards (i.e. blood, bodily fluids)</p> <p>20% - Overnight Travel</p> <p>Will operate from mobile health unit (incl. summer), attend health-related events, support clinical provider with blood draws and other support, Overnight travel within state expected.</p> <p>WORK SCHEDULE:</p> <p>Standard Hrs: 37.5; Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm</p> <p>COMPENSATION INFORMATION</p> <p>Band: 05 (expected range $ 39,764.00 - $ 55,000)</p> <p>Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL</p> <p>Normal Operations</p> <p>Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.</p> <p>JOB LOCATION:</p> <p>Clemson, SC but traveling across SC and neighboring states.</p> <p>APPLICATION DEADLINE:</p> <p>Review of applications will begin immediately but posting will remain open until filled.</p> <p>MILITARY AND VETERAN:</p> <p>MILITARY EQUIVALENCY:</p> <p>Clemson University is proud to allow educational equivalency for military technical certifications and trainings that directly relate to the job duties.</p> <p>VETERAN PREFERENCE:</p> <p>South Carolina is making our Veterans a priority for employment in state agencies and institutions.</p> <p>State policy for veteran preference states that for qualifying, full-time permanent positions, a veteran applicant may receive preference if they meet the job's minimum qualifications, were discharged under honorable conditions from the military, and submit their DD-214 for confidential review by the Office of Human Resources.</p> <p>To claim Veteran Preference for qualifying positions, email hrjob@clemson.edu upon submission of your application.</p> <p>CLOSING STATEMENT:</p> <p>Clemson University is an EEO/AA employer.
