<p>Position: Audio/Visual Specialist</p> <p>Department: Information Technology Services</p> <p>Status: Full Time</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Audio-Visual Specialist is responsible for configuring, installing, supporting, and maintaining audio-visual (AV) and digital media systems. Additional responsibilities include managing special A/V projects, training employees on a variety of software and systems and administering video and web conferencing systems.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Administer & maintain all classroom and meeting space AV systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate & maintain digital display systems</p> </li><li> <p>Provide training and support on web conferencing system use.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide training and operational support for faculty, staff, students, and guests in the use of classroom & meeting space AV systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation and Communication:</p> </li><li> <p>Create and maintain documentation for AV systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Updates university IT systems support information and data to ensure access to accurate and timely information.</p> </li><li> <p>Works directly with vendors to resolve problems with products and services.</p> </li><li> <p>Create documentation for the Classroom Support/ITS Internal knowledge bases.</p> </li><li> <p>Set up, configure, and test AV equipment for special events</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with IT professionals across campus to resolve issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure AV issues and support tickets are promptly addressed, documented, and resolved in a timely and professional manner consistent with the highest customer service and professional/technical standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with configuration and installation of desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and associated peripherals for faculty, staff, and students.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with support for desktop applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommend appropriate, fiscally responsible ideas and purchases related to AV systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise student workers.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.</p> </li><li> <p>Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, Title IX, Information Security, HIPAA, FERPA, and other state and federal mandates.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience. </li><li>Minimum 2 years' experience in supporting audio-visual systems </li><li>Preference will be given to candidates with current AV related certification </li><li>Experience in the higher education or non-profit sector is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong working knowledge in the operation and troubleshooting of audio, video, audio-visual, display control systems, and computer equipment. </li><li>Understanding of AV cabling and equipment connections. </li><li>Must be able to transport camera equipment (cameras, tripods, lights, etc.) across venues and campus </li><li>Knowledge of video and web conferencing systems </li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet. </li><li>Comprehensive computer knowledge and skills. </li><li>Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels. </li><li>Outstanding customer service skills. </li><li>Work independently, as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people. </li><li>Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public. </li><li>Ability to be flexible with schedule including nights, weekends and some early mornings. </li><li>Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations. </li><li>Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail are essential. </li><li>Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines. </li><li>Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment. </li><li>This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work with the Christian mission of Campbell University. </li></ul>
