<p>The work we do matters!</p> <p>Hiring Agency:</p> <p>Health & Human Services - Agency 25</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Lincoln, NE</p> <p>Hiring Rate:</p> <p>$25.024</p> <p>Job Posting:</p> <p>JR2025-00016343 Professional & Occupational Licensing Investigator-Public Health (Open)</p> <p>Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed):</p> <p>05-27-2025</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>DHHS Nebraska is seeking an experienced Licensing Investigator to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the safety and integrity of healthcare practices.</p> <p>In this dynamic role, you'll investigate complaints related to licensed professionals, unlicensed activities, and controlled substances, using your sharp analytical skills and clear communication to ensure compliance.</p> <p>You'll craft detailed reports, present findings to credentialing boards and the Attorney General's office and even provide expert testimony during legal hearings-all while helping protect vulnerable populations and uphold the highest standards of care.</p> <p>Working independently, the Professional/Occupational Licensing Investigator:</p> <ul> <li>Completes assigned investigations of complaints against licensed health professionals; </li><li>Prepares documentation and writes investigational reports for appropriate professional board and Attorney General's staff; </li><li>Monitors and evaluates compliance of licensed health professionals with conditions of licensure. </li></ul> <p>Requirements / Qualifications:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a health care related field, law or law enforcement or field related to the assigned regulatory program and one year experience reviewing records and reports, evaluating the use of evidence and conducting investigations. Equivalent experience or coursework/training may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Five or more years of experience in:</p> <ul> <li>Narrative/ investigational report writing; </li><li>Law enforcement or a similar background; </li><li>Performing investigations. </li></ul> <p>Experience in health care or health care related field helpful, but not required.</p> <p>Other: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized</p> <p>Transportation is required.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to condense detailed information into clear reports, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and develop relevant investigative plans based on allegations. </li><li>Demonstrate active listening, professionalism, and composure during investigations, utilizing knowledge of the investigative process, applicable regulations, and community resources. </li><li>Possess strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and are capable of maintaining openness and focus throughout investigations. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>We offer a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, paid time off, retirement and professional development opportunities to help you get the most out of your career and life.
