These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>To serve the students and staff attractive, nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Following daily instruction of kitchen functions. </li><li>Maintaining serving stations and kitchen prep areas. </li><li>Utilizing a team approach. </li><li>Reporting problems and concerns to Head Cook </li><li>Cleaning and sanitizing in a safe manner. </li><li>Maintaining stockrooms and rotating stock. </li><li>Following kitchen procedures. </li><li>Preparing food according to Head Cook's instruction. </li><li>Making production adjustments. </li><li>Presenting food in a manner which enhances the final product. </li><li>Determining the finished product is the best quality. </li><li>Verifying portion sizes. </li><li>Maintaining the serving line. </li><li>Maintaining Point of Sale accountability by daily tracking. </li><li>Retaining proper cash accountability. </li><li>Submitting information in a timely manner. </li><li>Serving proper portion sizes. </li><li>Interacting with a positive manner demeanor. </li><li>Maintaining accurate daily production records. </li><li>Maintaining Point of Sale accountability and completing FP-9 reports daily. </li><li>Maintaining accurate monthly inventory reports. </li><li>Retaining proper cash accountability and completing bank transactions. </li><li>Submitting information and required reports in a timely manner. </li><li>Use of effective communication and support of the head cook. </li><li>Maintains strict confidentiality regarding security, reports, plans, programs, etc. </li><li>Pursuing my own Professional Development. </li><li>Maintains current knowledge of new developments in procedures, techniques, nutrition, equipment, and supplies. </li><li>Performing other responsibilities as necessary. </li><li>Handling crises appropriately. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates knowledge of the methods and procedures involved in the preparing and serving of meals in a cafeteria. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to follow oral and written directives. </li><li>Demonstrates interpersonal skills </li><li>Possess ability to do heavy lifting. </li><li>Proficient in English </li><li>Bilingual Preferred </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Lawrence Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for employees and applicants.
