<p>Job Title: Chemist</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Chemist, you will perform chemical formulation of products such as emulsions, dispersions, suspensions, and coatings. You will oversee and manage multiple projects, guiding them from development through to the final production. Collaborating with the production team, you will scale up developed formulas for respective products. Your role also includes performing necessary lab work to develop new formulas, ensuring quality control measures, and conducting general lab bench work, including maintaining the lab. Staying current with industry trends and scientific methodologies through research is essential. Additionally, you will work with vendors and suppliers to review and approve materials, collaborate with third-party laboratories, and assist with training new laboratory personnel as needed.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform chemical formulation of emulsions, dispersions, suspensions, and coatings. </li><li>Oversee and manage multiple projects from development to final production. </li><li>Collaborate with production to scale up developed formulas. </li><li>Conduct lab work to develop new formulas and maintain necessary quality control measures. </li><li>Maintain the lab and perform general lab bench work. </li><li>Research new technologies and scientific literature to stay updated with industry trends. </li><li>Work with vendors and suppliers to review and approve materials used in laboratory work. </li><li>Collaborate with third-party laboratories as needed. </li><li>Assist with training new laboratory personnel. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong background in chemistry. </li><li>Experience with barrier coatings formulation. </li><li>Wet chemistry, research and development, formulation, chemical synthesis, laboratory, and analytical chemistry skills. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with emulsions, dispersions, suspensions, coatings, polymers, urethanes. </li><li>R&D chemistry and chemical development expertise. </li><li>Ability to work well with others, maintain an open mind, and possess a strong work ethic. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This is a chemical lab-based role, with 70-75% of the time spent in the lab, 20-25% in meetings and office work, and 5-10% on housekeeping tasks and remedial lab work. The position operates on a first shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexibility to stay beyond regular hours to wrap up tasks may be required.
