BWFC is looking for a talented Mechanical Assembler who will join our 1st shift team at our Akron, Ohio facility.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work from assembly drawings, specifications and instructions to plan work in proper sequences.</p> </li><li> <p>Assemble sections of machines or various combinations thereof as indicated by customer specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform assembly operations to exacting tolerances, work with various types of parts including rotating shafts, gear trains, mechanical structures, and pneumatic controls.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate various hand and power tools involved in assembly</p> </li><li> <p>Use precision measurement tools to level and align work, detect and eliminate run-out, work to close tolerances with a demand for square, concentricity and parallelism.</p> </li><li> <p>Detect defective material, out of tolerance components or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions</p> </li><li> <p>Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to multi-task various duties throughout the day as needed, with an ability to be versatile and flexible.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess good communication and interpersonal skills; be able to independently solve problems while interacting with different teammates on daily processes and flow.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participate in team meetings to effectively communicate any discrepancies and help resolve production issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Work in accordance with established safety procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain work areas and equipment in clean, orderly, and safe fashion</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications and Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>1+ years of machine building, mechanical assembly, or related work experience</p> </li></ul> <p>#LI-JK2</p> <p>At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
