We are committed to creating a supportive environment for our students, staff, and families. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 8th Grade Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics, fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment, and promoting academic growth and achievement among all students.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach middle school math curriculum </li><li>Develop and implement effective lesson plans, using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. </li><li>Use assessments and data to monitor student progress and provide targeted interventions where needed. </li><li>Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment. </li><li>Implement strategies to support student behavior and ensure a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all students. </li><li>Work closely with fellow teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure the academic success and well-being of students. </li><li>Participate in grade-level and subject-area meetings, professional development sessions, and school events. </li><li>Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities. </li><li>Provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments. </li><li>Stay current with developments in math education and pedagogy. </li><li>Participate in ongoing professional growth through workshops, conferences, and collaboration with colleagues. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (required). </li><li>Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for middle school (or eligibility for certification). </li></ul> <p>Gloucester City School District is an equal opportunity employer.
