These positions are for 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Co-planning, delivering, and reflecting upon daily lesson plans with classroom teacher. </li><li>Assists in the supervision and activities for students. </li><li>Monitors and assist with child behavior management. </li><li>Monitors students in non-classroom settings, and assists with everyday situations. </li><li>Attend various meetings as needed. </li><li>Other duties as directed. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY DUTIES:</p> <p>None</p> <p>POSITION REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or G.E.D. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively </li><li></li><li>At least 48 credit hours completed at an institute of higher education; OR </li><li>An Associate's (or higher) degree; OR </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Experience using computers, word processing programs and general office equipment. </li><li>One to three years of experience as an elementary paraprofessional highly desired. </li><li>Experience working with Special Education students preferred. </li><li>Bilingual Spanish/English desirable. </li></ul> <p>GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Is flexible and adaptable to change </li><li>Has the ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and co-workers </li><li>Maintains a positive attitude </li><li>Observes all district policies and procedures </li><li>Supports the Sheridan School District Strategic Plan </li><li>Supports school mission and vision </li><li></li></ul> <p>Certificates and Licenses</p> <p>None</p> <p>Continuing Education/Training</p> <p>Microsoft Office</p> <p>ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions required the following physical demands: some lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling: and signification fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires sitting, walking, and standing. This job is performed in generally a clean and healthy environment. Mostly clean; some noise; interactions with students in a general education classroom setting. Occasional lifting 5 to 50 pounds (some positions require the lifting of students), frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling and occasional sitting, reaching, stooping, and squatting.</p> <p>CLEARANCES</p> <p>Must clear background check through an online Records check and FBI Fingerprint check through Colorado Bureau of Investigation.</p> <p>SALARY</p> <p>Initial salary placement on Class 1 of the Para-Educator Salary Schedule is step 5. Salary schedule can be found at ssd2.org.</p> <p>The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the 1st working day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday.</p> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <p>Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible to obtain district health benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for health benefits also qualify for leave which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA).
